I purchased this item to remove hard water build up from a shower door. I would rate cleaning at 60%. After two applications shower door showed some improvement, but over-all disappointing. I did not spend much, so I am ok, but would not buy again.

I was skeptical about this working on the hard water stains on our shower door. It worked better than expected. It was almost like waxing your car. The glass as you can see is totally clean. It is staying clean so far. We use a squeegee to wipe the excess water away after our shower. Before using this product we had streaks and dirty glass after using the squeegee. Now it’s staying clear. We are testing to see how long it last before we use the rainx again. It’s definitely worth a try. We will keep buying it for sure.

We have some hard water issues here at the house so our shower door was starting to get spotty and that annoying hard water film. This product, paired with the Rain-X water repellant worked perfectly to get rid of everything and make the glass sparkle like new. It was easy to use and dont see any reason to redo the process next month!

TLDR: It really works on really tough really old spots! I tried all kinds of harsh chemicals and abrasives on my new shower doors with no luck. Best I found was scraping with a razor blade and regular scrubbing with steel wool, but still left a lot of spots. I thought they were going to be permanent. One expert website recommended wet sanding with 3000-7000 grit sandpaper, which I luckily tried on a small area first because it scratched the glass but did not remove the spots. So I had my doubts when reviewers claimed this product removed old soap scum and tough water stains. Well I was blown away by the results. Not only was my glass crystal clear but it was effortless. It only took a pea-sized drop on a wet sponge per side of glass. There was no harsh fumes or scrubbing. My tip is use lots of water. The directions recommend a damp cloth but it felt gritty and did not go on evenly so I kept adding water until it was dripping wet. Also use lots of water when rinsing off and run a clean sponge or your hands over the glass or it may leave a hazy film behind.

I have a clear shower door that you have to squeegee after each use and can only use certain cleaners on. It normally needs to be cleaned about once a week but if you forget to squeegee it (like my kids) then it quickly builds soap residue and becomes almost fogged. And if you dont clean it regularly (like my house) then it becomes very difficult and time consuming (at least an hour) to clean. That was before I tried rain x. The first time I used rainx was to clean the door that had to be about 2 months of soap on it. Now I still had to spend time and elbow grease but the door was never cleaner. Also I spent easily half the time (30-45 minutes with rainx) that I would of with a normal glass cleaner and definitely less product. So Im going to use this every time for now on. Also I did not notice any difference after the cleaning as to the water on the door as with my usual glass cleaner.

This stuff took off hard water stains that NOTHING ELSE could ! Due to not having a maid during the COVID era, tough hard water stains built up on my shower glass for two years. Tried everything I could find on the web to remove these stubborn stains (over 20 different methods, including using sandpaper) and NOTHING WORKED. Out of pure curiosity (and knowing I could return to Amazon) I order the Rain-X. At first, thought the product was defected, as I could barely squeeze anything out of the bottle ! But after I pulled the top off to see what the issue was, turns out this is sort of “polishing paste” and bottle was designed that very little of the product is dispensed at a time. BOTTOM LINE : OUT OF 12 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS AND 8 METHODS USING COMMON HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS, THIS IS THE *ONLY* ONE THAT TOOK *ALL* OF THE STAINS OFF ON MY SHOWER GLASS - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !!

My glass shower doors were so cloudy with soap scum and water spots that you could barely see through them. I was sceptical that anything would get them clean. I tried the Rain-x shower doors cleaner just like instructions on bottle directed.My shower looks completely new! I would highly recommended this product.

Look. If you’re shower doors have minimal soap scum on them. It’ll work pretty good. The top like quarter of my shower door is nice and shiny. But the rest of it. Is a little cleaner with a solid layer of soap scum on it. And trust me. I scrubbed. Rinsed. Scrubbed. Rinsed. For a solid 30 minutes on just the door alone. And it still has that layer of scum on it. I live in a rental. So i dont really spend a lot of money to clean and fix above the minimum weekly cleaning. But i hate how the shower glass looks. So i spent the money. Seeing how well all of the automotive rain-x products have worked. And i was let down. Extremely… without using it as a cutting or buffing compound and breaking out the electric polisher… i really dont see it being able to do what it says. Even using a mr clean magic eraser and repeating the first few steps over and over and over. It has made no change from the initial layer it removed after only a weeks worth of soap scum, dont waste your money unless you have a very thin layer of soap scum on your glass. And immediately follow it with some sort of hydrophobic coating or ceramic coating to keep the soap scum off.

Purchase for my Mom, it was perfect! Looks great after! She loved it and less work for my parents!
