So far, so good.... Ive been using the bulbs about a week, so if anything changes, Ill have to edit my review. I recently switched from a standard fluorescent fixture to the exo terra compact top. I had always used and liked the 18 reptisun 5.0 bulbs. These fit perfectly in the exo terra top and this listing was cheaper than buying 2 of the exo terra bulbs. In fact, the 2 bulbs in this listing was cheaper (by a good 10 dollars) than what petco sells ONE of these bulbs for. I like that the bulbs have a spot to write the date on which they were installed, so I know for sure when they need to be changed (and you can sign up for an email reminder for bulb changing too. The website is on the bulb box insert). My lizard was instantly more active and out and about more with her fresh UVB installed. Definitely saving this listing for later in hopes the price remains the same!

We use the uvb for our birds to ensure they are absorbing the needed nutrients from the uvb. My bird loves it so much that he regurgitates for it! Lol he loves his lamp

These need to be used in conjunction with a basking lamp for reptiles since they do not put out much heat. However if you use a basking lamp in the same reflector housing, the heat from the basking lamp will burn out this UVB bulb. I found this out the hard way. So a word of advice, only use this with a dedicated reflector that dissipates heat well or the ballast that is built into the base will burn out immediately.
