RIDGID 26643 VF3500 3-Layer Fine Filter for Wet/Dry Vacuums

> 24 hourThis Ridgid VF3500 3-Layer Filter fits great on my 7+ year old RIDGID WD4050 shop vacuum. While there appears to be some confusion about the discrepancy between VF3500 and VR3500 part numbers, this is simply because RIDGID has updated the design of the filter. EITHER part number (VR or VF prefix) will fit and function properly; however, this newer VF model does not require use of the round black plastic plate that was needed to hold on the older (open bottom) style of filter. A rubberized plate is now molded directly into the bottom of the filter (hence the black tabs you can see peeking out from the bottom of the product picture). Technically, you also dont need the white nylon threaded nut that held that round plastic plate in place. The new filter is more of a friction fit; however, I installed the white nylon nut anyway, since enough of the threaded post protrudes through the center of this newer filter to allow for its installation.

> 24 hourWorks for my WD4070 just fine! Fits like a glove and now I am able to continue cleaning things. I had to buy a replacement because I used the vacuum to suck up water and left the filter on after I was done. You are supposed to take it out and allow it to dry after vacuuming water. I did not know this, and hence this purchase. Also, if your vacuum feels weaker than normal, then STOP using it. It is probably choking on your old and dirty filter. Replace the filter and buy a new one such as this. You do not want to burn out the motor by making the motor breathe through a straw (clogged filter). Anyways, this filter came in on time, and was easy to switch out, and reasonably priced. Will buy again. Very convenient!

> 24 hourI have washed and reused a filter already and am replacing that one after the paper filter started to degrade. The first two times I washed that filter I lightly rinsed it under running water in the sink. The last time I soaked it for a few minutes to get the fine dust out. That was a bad idea. The next time I went to use it the pleats collapsed. Either way still was able to reuse this a few times, so its better than the 1 off kind. Its great.
