> 3 dayRoxio has always made a good product and this is no exception. The product does all it says . I enjoy making CDs so I dont have my original cds in the car. If some one gets away with a burnt CD ,I still have the original ! Good easy to understand software.

> 3 dayI like this program (Easy CD & DVD)! I have Windows XP and this program has the Roxio (Sonic) Express Labeler--which a is simple CD & DVD BURNING program. I do NOT like the NERO software (because of TOO MANY bells and whistles--stuff that right now I DONT NEED! Thank goodness I found the labeler I was used to I believe this used to be the Sonic Express Labeler--becase it does the same things the labeler someone else put on my computer(a HP Media Center Edition), used to do--only it had the Sonic name on it. Who needs bells and whistles of NERO? I dont! Roxio Easy CD & DVD is the one for me--and maybe you too--especially if youre frustrated with NERO and what you want is burning software without the frills of Nero. *Roxio Easy CD & DVD is it! * This program works with Lightscribe DVD/CD Writers. It is a basic easy program Who needs frills? When all you need is simple?

> 3 dayI find this Roxio burning program to be very time consuming and expensive to use [wasteful]. It seems every other time I use it, it complains about something wrong with this disc half way through the burn or failing to perform simple disc erases. I quit counting how many CD-R and DVD-R discs Ive thrown away because of Roxios nonsense. I finally quit using it. Now I simply fire up my old, FREE, CD BurnerXP program and it pops out perfect discs every time. Its just live and learn. The Roxio hype turned out to be a joke. MR

> 3 dayI used EASY CD since version 1. The latest is a nightmare. Here is a listing of the problems that were experienced. . . 1. The program refused to install. After several unsuccessful attempts, I rebooted my computer with the installation CD in my CD/DVD reader. . 2. By the fifth reboot, the program began to install. It took over 20 minutes. . 3. Trying out the software, I activated the video player. It bombed because a file was missing. . 4. I tried the main program. The blue screen of death appeared, and I had to reboot the computer. . 5. My Windows 7 OS was destroyed as a consequence. This forced me to reformat the hard drive and re-image my boot partition. . 6. While my OS was being resurrected, I tried installing the program on a second computer. Immediately the screen went black and everything froze. I hard booted my second computer. Luckily my Windows 7 was OK and nothing was damaged. . 7. Next day, I went to the Roxio support website, read the fine print, and described the above problems on its form. This is a one-shot deal. The company only allowed one free inquiry with its tech department. Any more, the customer is forced to purchase a service plan. . 8. The reply was very interesting. Instead of sending a replacement disk or providing me an internet link to download a good copy, the technician needed time to study the case. If I wanted faster or better service, I had to purchase a support plan for a price. . This was unreal. The installation disk was bad, and the obvious solution was to replace it. There was no need to study the problem - the solution was brainless. In addition, a paid telephone conversation with a high price technician was not going to cause the defective installation disc to become good. . . It is too bad that the Amazon.com website does not allow a 0 Star rating. As a result, my 1 Star award is the best that can be given. . . . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . . . UPDATE . Two days later, the technician emailed a link to download a good copy of the software. The program installed without any problems. . Unfortunately, my 1 Star rating remains unchanged for these reasons. . 1. The brainless solution should not take two days to resolve. The problem was obvious - defective software. . 2. Limiting free customer service contact to one emailing is a bad business practice. It is also insulting to require the user to purchase a technical service plan if further technical support was needed. . 3. Consumers should not have to pay $35 per hour to talk to a technician by telephone. This was the companys definition of quicker and better service.

Greater than one weekThis Roxio software has caused me the most bizarre and frustrating experience ever. First, it doesnt work. Second, I cannot obtain any support from Roxio to find out why. They wont give support until you register, the only way to register is to follow a web link that comes with the software, and it takes you to a website that either doesnt exist, or is always down. Thus, it turns out to be a complete waste of money, not to mention several hours of time. RUN, dont WALK away from this software and this company.

> 3 dayOMG, I am ignorant. I wish I would have read these reviews BEFORE I went ahead and spent thirtyplusdollars on this program. I bought it with the thought that I was going to be able to create DVDs to play in a regular DVD player. Believe it or not, I have friends who still watch videos on DVD! On the package, it says Videos made easy Create custom DVDs... etc. This led me to belive that I could create actual DVDs with menus, chapters, etc. WRONG!!! When I try to access this feature, the program tells me I need to upgrade!!! WTF???? I just bought this bloody thing and now they want me to spend eightymoredollars in order to do what the package SAYS it can do?????? Bollocks! I call shennanigans!!! Oh yes, I DID find one area where you can make a menu screen and TRY to import media. BUT that is so slow and tedious as to be nearly unusable. Then when the menu finally does load in...after several minutes watching a progress bar...you can do nothing with it. The music they put on it is WAYYY too loud and it can not be muted. You cant even change the music! ...there is no option! I finally did manage to get a few files moved into this decrepit interface and it started looking like I might be able to get something going after all. I started to feel hopeful. So I tried a burn, just to see what would happen. Guess what. It made a coaster!! Totally useless! Again, BOLLOCKS, I say! BTW, my system is an AMD Dual core with 4gigs of RAM and 1.25TB of HD storage. Running win7 64bit. Not a Screaming system by todays standards, but quite capable nonetheless. This software is just not what it claims to be. I am especially unhappy that I paid for a TRIAL VERSION!! I guess they must have seen me coming from a mile away. Yup, I got suckered by this package. Not again though. It has been removed and is on its way to the bin. If there is anything positive about this purchase, it is that I have learned a valuable lesson here: Read the reviews BEFORE buying software! So now my quest continues to find a program that I can use to actually create DVDs for general home use. Surely there must be SOMETHING out there??? ...somewhere??? One thing is certain though: I will surely never buy another Roxio product again. >>>UPDATE Nov 7, 2011<<< Subsequent to writing this review, I have discovered that my PC already has a DVD program built in. Windows Live DVD Maker comes with Windows 7. I have had a lot of success with the Windows software. No, this is not a review of Windows Live DVD Maker. I simply thought Id offer this up as a very viable alternative to this Roxio garbage.

18-11-2024Horrible program. I read that it will burn DVDs supported by DVD players so I bought it. I couldnt import ANY of the media formats I tried. Itll let you select multiple types, but then throw an error that it cant use that format. Waste of money!

> 3 dayRoxio Easy CD & DVD software does not support MP4 file format even though their advertisement online says it supports ALL file formats. The customer service is inefficient and very, very, poor. I wouldnt recommend Roxio Easy CD & DVD software to anyone. Warning to the wise - STAY AWAY! You will be very disapointed.

Greater than one weekI have used Adaptec Easy CD Creator since version 2.0 I just purchased CD & DVD Burner brand new from Amazon. And now I discover its a Legacy product! It doesnt recognize EITHER of my DVD burners, both of which are MORE THAN 2 YEARS OLD with firmware updates. One is a Toshiba, the other is a NEC. I went to Tech Support at Roxio and started a ticket. It still has not been answered after more than a 2 weeks. I have tried twice to Live Chat - no one is available, though Im first in the que. There is no phone number for technical issues, just customer support. In short, there is effectively no technical support for this product at all. I see at the Roxio forum that the product is incompatible with Internet Explorer 7. Were supposed to roll back to IE 6.0. I have a new install of WinXP and rolling back isnt an option. Besides, if a piece of software doesnt work with the most ubiquitous Internet Browser, it needs a patch, or, it needs to be pulled off the shelves. In sum, this is the worst new product Ive purchased in years, and the tech support is also the worst Ive experienced in a long time. My money is simply shot with no hope of this software ever working. That is unacceptable. When this happens to me, I stop buying software from that company...for good. That means Roxio has lost a faithful, long-term customer.
