These boxes arrive flat and are made out of light weight cardboard and plastic. I have a feeling this is pretty standard for all BABY boxes in this vein. They require some finesse to assemble, but worked fine for the baby shower we were hosting. We ultimately decided to put balloons inside the boxes so that the letters would stand out. Should mention that the letters do not come affixed to the side of the box. You will assemble using glue dots. Keep extra tape and glue dots on hand! All in - easy to use for a party and fine value. Definitely not something you could leave set up in a babys room.
