> 24 hourWe are headed on a cruise to Alaska and needed compact travel umbrellas in the very likely event we encounter rain. This LITTLE umbrella is amazingly compact! It has a closed circumference of about 8 inches and is 7 inches tall. Open, the diameter is 31 inches and from the bottom of the handle to the top arch of the umbrella is 21 inches. I was worried this would feel like a kids umbrella but it doesnt. There is nothing about this that is automatic, you have to unwrap, push the umbrella away from the handle to open then pull it closed. The arms on the umbrella have both plastic and metal parts but seem to be sturdy. Its not going to weather a huge windstorm well, but it is wonderfully perfect if you need a compact umbrella to put in luggage, a purse, or backpack. In addition, this little umbrella comes in a little black bag that has a long outside pocket and a small hook on the top to attach to a strap for easy carrying. The bag also turns inside out to transform into a 12 inch by 12 inch by 4 inch carrying back with long handles. I could not get over all the surprises with this little umbrella.
