Wow this thing is nice and fast. Installed it in my ps5 and formatted it and the ps5 read that the rate was 6756 mb/sec. The load times for most of my games is reduced way over half compared to the integrated memory on the ps5. Why Sony decided to integrate the storage into the motherboard is beyond me but hopefully they will make it to where the OS can be moved to the extended storage to keep it from making my PS5 an expensive brick. This was very easy to install and set up. Plug and Play...

With the price of SSD memory on the quick decline, when you find a price point that you feel comfortable with, this might just be the upgrade you’re looking for. Install was a breeze and the heat sink is a perfect fit for the PS5. It does it’s job without kicking the fans to a higher speed and creating additional noise. I will admit that I was a bit skeptical, as Sabrent wasn’t a company that I had heard much about and I typically go with WD, Samsung, or Crucial; companies with a proven track record and brand recognition. I took a gamble and this upgrade gets the job done so far. Remember to register your product to get the 5 year warranty! We will see if it holds up; SSDs have a finite life cycle of erase/writes before wearing down, so hopefully Sabrent didn’t cut any corners to keep the price low. I know the speed is touted as being faster than the PS5’s integrated drive and a speed test showed this to be true. In practice, I really haven’t noticed any difference between the two, but I think we’re talking fractions of a second. The nice thing is that it adds additional space; moving my entire library from the stock to the SSD took a matter of minutes and there’s still a lot of room to spare. No more worrying about what to keep/delete. Overall, if you have the extra scratch for an SSD upgrade, this option is a pretty good value for the money. Update: After having used this SSD for about 4 months there are some glaring issues. First off, initial format speed rated this as 6500 mb/s, yet for several games I notice a lot of texture pop-in as if the drive is struggling to load things in quickly enough. My thought is that the initial Speedtest can be rather deceiving. This drive struggles with games like Horizon: Forbidden West or the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 where textures initially appear low res and pop in as high res about a fraction of a second late if you’re moving quickly. When played from the PS5’s internal drive, everything runs fine, but when running from this drive, it appears to be a bit too slow. I’ve read that updating the firmware on the drive via PC helps, but I’m a MacBook guy, so that’s a no-go for me. Overall, it’s great as an expansion (storage) drive, but kind of useless as a main drive to run games off of; the speed is all over the place and generally runs just below the minimum specs for the PS5. Word to the wise: spend the extra money and get a WD, Samsung, or Crucial drive instead. The heatsink is good though, so maybe just get that.

Extreamly EASY to install litreally like spreading Peanut butter on toast and thats not even the best part, A Heatsink specially made for ps5. YALL LISTENIN TO THIS. The other ssd cost 189$ and above easily without a heatsink and specially made for ps5 lol forget it. You think that was the best part? Nah Nah Nah, yall know the feeling of odering from a new restaurant and when it arrives its 2x bigger than what you might expected. Well same goes for this after I was done install and boot up the ps5 my reading speed was 6520.001 Mb/s and this reading speed was for 1Tb purchase. Yea I think I just died and went to heaven.

    Greater than one week

Be sure to download and install the full 1 gig firmware update from PlayStation website. If the PS5 doesn’t see your thumb drive, try using a different one. It must be a 2 gig thumb drive. Buy this SSD because it comes with a heat sink that fits in the ps5.

The ssd is very easy and quick to install. The only issue I had was the screwdriver that it came with was to small and I had to get a different screwdriver, if it wasnt for that I would give this 5 stars.

Runs faster as time goes on. Works perfectly with my Ps5 and runs cooler thanks to built in heavy duty heat sink. Excellent presentation and build quality. Would buy again.

I dont really play that much, so its not like I need the storage, and Im no tech savvy either, but I could definitely see the speed difference in the game I transferred to the SSD. It was the easiest thing ever to install and for a great price too.

Slapped this bad boy in my PS5. Games today take up way too much space, the onboard 1tb SSD isnt enough.
