> 3 dayI cant express how pleased I am with the speed of this NVME. Crystal Disk was spot on with the rated speeds. My computer boots in 2 seconds! I was a little skeptical not being able to find much info on this drive, but I did find out it is based on Toshibas BiCS 3d TLC NAND. They are the innovators so I was good with that. The price to performance is definitely worth it. 512gb nvme that performs at 3500/3000 and is only 99 BUCKS! Ill take that! The only irritation I had was I could not Clone to this drive for the life of me. I tried Macrium, Acronis, and Casper. Casper cloned it, but would not boot into Win 10. I finally gave up and just installed windows 10 fresh. After that it booted instantly and updated rediculously fast. My WIFI was my bottleneck. I am no pro, but Ive built a bunch of PCs for myself and friends for gaming. Ive used a lot of different ssds from samsung, silicon power, zheino, pny, adata, intel, and now sabrent. It gets addicting. To be honest, once you get into NVME speeds it is hard to notice a difference from 1500 to 3500 anyway. SATA ssd is way better than platter, and NVME is better than that. This is cheap for now and competes with the best. If it lasts its the deal of the century.

> 3 dayThis is a great SSD with great performance, if you can keep it cool. Mine is located partially under a hot GPU. This caused thermal throttling which adversely affected random writes. I installed a single-sided heatsink on the Sabrent which brought performance back up to what was expected. The Sabrent seems to run a little hotter than my Samsung PM961. The other issue is that if you plan to clone an existing drive to the Sabrent, you will likely run into the 512 byte vs 4096 byte sector incompatibility issue making cloning impossible. Essentially, most drives have 512 byte sectors. Most modern drives use 4096 byte sectors, but emulate 512 byte sectors. This Sabrent is 4096 bytes and does not emulate 512 byte sectors. This means you probably wont be able to clone your old drive to this Sabrent. If you are planning to use this a boot drive for an existing computer, youll most likely need to do a fresh install of your OS. If you are going to use this Sabrent as a data drive, then you can just copy the files over (but not clone). One star off for not supporting 512 byte sectors.

> 3 day(Reviewing Sabrent SB-ROCKET-1TB) I had my doubts going in, but performance wise and ease of physical installation this is a great product. As you can see from the screen shot (my C: drive), it meets or exceeds the advertised specs (the D: drive is my prior SATA 6.0 Crucial MX300 boot drive). The physical installation couldnt have been simpler on my MSI X470 GAMING PLUS motherboard. I dinged this product two stars though (maybe you think thats too harsh, but I dont) for Easy to Install and 1 star off the Overall. This drive according to both Sabrent support and Amazon support does not support the standard 512/512e sector size of your typical hard disk or SSD, its a pure 4096 sector size device and needs to be GPT partitioned (not the older MBR partition types). I already had the device in hand from Amazon before I realized this, which goes to show, READ REVIEWS FIRST! What this means to YOU the potential purchaser is having to install Windows 10 clean and reinstall or restore all your software. BACK UP YOUR SYSTEM, TWICE, BEFORE YOU TRY MIGRATING TO THIS AS YOUR WINDOWS BOOT DRIVE! Get the MediaCreationTool64 off Microsoft and make sure you have a bootable install source (either USB stick or DVD) from reinstalling Windows 10 using that tool, and make sure you know your Windows product activation key before proceeding. I tried all the usual suspects you find online for migrating your Windows to a SSD without having to re-install, from Macrius to EaseUs to etc., each would fail saying unsupported destination due to sector size translation required, or they didnt support a GPT partitioned destination, etc. There was a paid version of one of them that said it could do it, I didnt feel like forking over another $20 or $30 or whatever it was they wanted. Amazon support suggested I try clonezilla, which is a custom bootable Linux for cloning drives (yes, it will clone Windows drives too), but it didnt work either. It would do its thing looking like things were copying to the Sabrent just fine, then it would error at the very end after the progress bar had reached 100%. So, in the end, after all these failures I just gave up, figuring in the long run Id be better off with a clean install of Windows 10 1809 than the patched and patched and patched to 1809 I had been running, and then restored my important stuff. So, final reminder, BACK UP YOUR SYSTEM, IDEALLY TWICE TO DIFFERENT DESTINATIONS, BEFORE YOU TRY MIGRATING TO THIS AS YOUR WINDOWS BOOT DRIVE! Overall, my PC has been up and running for almost a week now with this drive and no complaints under use for any productivity tasks, playing some pretty intense games, etc.

> 3 daySummary: The Phison E12 controller is silently changed to the E12S for the newer units in production to to supply demand, in case there is a shortage of any other component that was originally used.(as said by them in a correspondence). This new controller for the SSD has 1/2 the amount of DRAM(not noticeable unless youre doing high workloads). But isnt that to be expected for such a performance NVMe drive? This product may come across as bait-and-switch/SSD controller lottery or russian roulette/ etc. Spend your money wisely. You never know if youll get the smaller gimped E12S or the standard E12. Its a lottery. I urge you to recommend this drive carefully to your friends, acquiantances and whomever. I know I will because Im part of a lot of forums and a discord server. Ill continue to warn others everyday when I have the time. Ill adjust my recommendations as well. It only had 1/2 DRAM which is a huge difference from the 1 GB of DRAM per 1TB of storage space for the drive which I knew it had. It may feel misleading. Some of you who keep track of things might remember this having 1 GB of RAM for every 1 TB of storage space. But now the DRAM is halved when I inspected it. I searched online about it and some threads and even Newmaxx are discussing that apparently Sabrent silently did a hardware change? They changed the controller to gimp it and make it cheaper along with having the possibility of introducing a 4TB SKU? Thats really misleading. It feels like a bait and switch. Im really inconvenienced by this since I really had high hopes that this would be the best bang-for-your-buck NVMe drive out there. I always knew that this was the best value per GB drive in the past but I dont know now. Be prepared to pay the same amount of money for a gimped version of this product. You never know if you will get the standard Phison E12 controller with the full amount of DRAM and 32CE or the downgraded one with 1/2 DRAM and 16CE. For more discussion of this product you can just consult Newmaxx as he is the authority of buying the best bang-for-your-buck solid state drives out there. I found another user with the same grievance and Newmaxxs response was this: Its quite possible such a drive will perform better for the average user, thanks to the flash and the nature of consumer workloads. On the whole Id say most people will notice no difference, though. But I do believe it will hit certain workloads negatively, for one because youre at 16CE instead of 32 (with the old 256Gb/die flash) and second due to having 1/2 the DRAM for lots of small operations. I think review sites would argue that at this (low) price its still a good value and maybe even a good change - its now single-sided at 1TB, for example - not least because such heavy workloads are unrealistic, nevertheless I personally feel its a misleading change. So far the P34A80 and MP510 E12 drives have only gone to the denser flash. Take the above with a grain of salt. Also, this is a minor nitpick but the software for converting the physical sector size of this drive is not working correctly, specifically even if you convert it to 4K from 512 or vice versa, the detected sector size in the program is still displayed as 512 regardless of the actual physical sector size. Although that is the case, the physical sector size is actually changed when you convert it. To fully make sure, you can use fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo [drive letter like c:] and look for the sector size specs. P.S. For more info heres the log file for the utility I used for testing. As you can see the DRAM is only 512MB. I used the SSD utilities on Phisons website(that also has utilities for other SSD Controller brands like SMI and JMicron) v0.183a OS: 10.0 build 15063 Drive: 1(NVME) Scsi : 1 Model : Sabrent Fw : RKT303.1 Size : 976762 MB LBA Size: 512 Read_System_Info_5008 error: 4294967295 Firmware lock supported [02 01]- Drive locked, use v0.2+ Read_Infoblock_5012 error: 4294967295 P/N : Get_Flash_Info_5012 error: 4294967295 Controller : PS5012-E12 CPU Clk : 666 Flash CE : 16 Flash Channel : 8 Interleave : 2 Flash CE Mask : [++++++++ ++++++++ -------- --------] FlashR Clk,MT : 666 FlashW Clk,MT : 666 Block per CE : 944 Bit Per Cell : 3(TLC) DRAM Size,MB : 512 DRAM Clock,MHz: 1600 DRAM Type : DDR3

> 3 dayWorks, was packaged well, and had no defects. Im sure this will last me untill ARK alone becomes 1TB. Until then however, this thing is doing me just fine! I use it for video and photo storage as well as gaming. My most important games go on it along with my mass dumps of vids and photos. Fast transfer from there to wherever I choose: server, Google, sd cards, whatever. This one has been in 2 pcs so far. Bang for buck Turbo Panda

> 3 dayI have been using this drive for a little over 2 months now. This has been a Great drive so far, and the Experience of disk cloning with the downloadable software WAS Amazing. I place this drive in installed the software and it cloned my 1TB drive in like 15 minutes and the most. It was awesome!!.. I then set my pc to boot from the new drive and left my old drive as a back up and I was off and running with so much more space. I have had no issues so far, the dive has been doing just fine and I can say 100% I would buy it again without a 2nd thought. I fully recommend the drive and brand.

Greater than one weekThe first one I recieved was defective, which is a possibility with anything and I dont view that as a negative for the seller or the product. I contacted the Seller and they were extremely help full with getting me sent out a replacement which is currently working with zero issues. I never had any type of SSD before so can only compare to my 3.5 but for writing and loading cached textures its extremely fast in comparison was a night and day difference to you. This will depend on what your application needs and if your computer is lacking in other hardware but its easy to think a better GPU and CPU is all you need to think about for better performance. Highly suggest considering it, if you are still on a 3.5 like I was. Some things you wont notice much more than faster loading but for what I been doing it is constantly reading and writing to the cache and made everything feel so much faster. If you are considering the next generation up, consider your needs, it is slightly faster but you might only notice a second or two difference when loading, so this generation to me made the most since for the price decrease.

> 3 dayThis is one of the best, most immediately effective purchases I have made for a PC in a long time. I had no issues with the installation of this drive. Well, almost. My biggest issues was that I didnt have an M2 size screw available. The drive will still work without one, but its best to secure it. I could only find one M2 size screw at my little local hardware store that was too long. So, I jerry-rigged that screw with a few washers to make it work. This drive is amazingly fast. Its very satisfying to spend the money on this very affordable drive and to see what a dramatic impact it has on system performance. I didnt clone a drive, so I didnt run into some of the issues that others have reported with 4kb cluster sizes. However, it looks like the manufacturer has released a utility now that will allow you to overcome that issue. Im sure a clean install of Windows 10 helped with system performance also. However, take a look at the attached image that shows CrystalDiskMark measurements. I went from 2 traditional spinning disks in RAID 1 to this M.2 SSD. Before on the left and after on the right!

> 3 dayI received it the same day I ordered it! I had to return the first one, as it was a dud. That just happens sometimes with computer parts for some reason. But I got a free replacement! I love the little aluminum case it comes in. Something about it is just... satisfying? I learned, after hours of troubleshooting the first one, then easily installing the second one, if it doesn’t just install easily, it’s a dud. All I had to do was click it in, go to Disk Management, and install it as a simple storage disk. A couple windows later, and it’s working. Easy. Returning was just as easy. Just keep the bag they send it in- it has adhesive to reseal and return for this very reason. It really is that normal for computer parts to be duds. As for how it works? Time will tell. So far, it’s fine. I don’t expect to be immediately blown away by a middle-price storage drive. It works, and that’s what I wanted. But they get five stars for the packaging, ease of return, and ease of installation.
