> 24 hourI purchased these to sand the dirt and soft wood fibers off some live edge Maple for a vanity I am making. The bark was stripped and I wanted something that would keep the original contours. The red (100 grit) works well and did a great job. Both the Gray and Blue deposited something on the wood that darkened it. Im sure they will work well on steel or something else. Good value.

> 24 hourI have been doing some restoring of some items that I had in my garage. I had been sanding and using paint strippers of most of the projects. I saw these and ordered the set. These brushes came in such good use around some of the curves and joint areas with the removal of rust and paint. Speeding up the whole operation. Wish they had been here all along.

> 24 hourI bought the 9 pack not because I wanted all 9, but because I wanted all the sizes. I bought two kinds of cordless drill wire brushes to strip the paint and rust from a water fountain. Wire brushes and wheels have a couple of problems worth noting: 1. They can break/shed bits of metal wire (which could lodge in your skin or eyes). 2. It turns out wire brushes are not as effective at removing rust or paint in part because they arent graded by grit! In part because the wire wheel can only remove what the tips of the wire touch. These nylon wheels with embedded grit come in 3 grits: 80, 120, and 220. I had a 1.25 gap I needed to remove the flaking paint and rust from and the narrow tipped items worked VERY well for that. One reason, of course is that it fit. But the other reason, is that the removal can occur not only at the tip, but also along the entire shaft of the bristle! That feature (using the sides of the bristles) made it possible to strip the rust and paint from parts of my piece that would have been impossible to get to otherwise. And the rust and paint removal was far more effective than any of the wire brushes I tried to use. Lastly, because its nylon and an abrasive, whatever is shed by the brush is less likely to rust. Consider, for example, stripping rust of a grill grate. Ive used a manual wire brush, and a power driven wire wheel, and then discovered bits of shed brush remained on the grate that then contacted/impregnated what I was cooking. Hamburger with a side order of metal shavings anyone? If I do need to resort to using using these abrasive brushes on a grill, I finish up with a nylon-only brush and damp rag to knock of any remaining dust. Finally, I also used a mesh style 80 grit on my orbital sander to try to remove rust and paint... even though they claim to last 10x longer than abrasive disks, they didnt go very far before they stopped being effect whereas these brushes apparently will continue to work until there is no bristle left.

> 24 hourThe metal back door had been scratched many times by the dogs trying to get back in the house after being let out to go potty. The scratching had removed all the paint and the metal was exposed to the elements and had begun to rust. These nylon brushes made the repair job easy. So much easier than using sand paper and the brushes didnt get clogged with material. Started by using the 80 grit wheel to remove all the rough rust and loose paint. Then, worked my up in grit to the 240 grit to a smooth transition point between the still painted portion of the door and the bare metal portion that was now rust free and smooth. Completed the repair with a rust preventative spray paint with primer, followed by 2 coats of outdoor latex house paint and finished off with a smooth plastic film to protect the paint from further scratching that will always be hard to prevent. Cant even tell that the door had been previously damaged and had developed rust bubbling under the paint. Great addition to my home repair arsenal of tools.

> 24 hourThe package arrived half-opened in a very, very thin cardboard box, with no information, no instructions, warnings, or advice; in fact, there was nothing in the box except the 9 wire brushes. Not an auspicious beginning. I ordered these brushes to help with several cleaning/maintenance issues around my 75-yr-old home: cleaning the grout in the bathroom, scrubbing some old stains on long standing basement sinks, and cleaning some corrosion off old pipes in the basement. Each brush warns to be sure to wear safety goggles when using - an important warning. I would add that you should wear gloves as the bristles on these brushes are strong and could be an issue to exposed skin. Fortunately, these brushes seem to be quality made and hold together pretty well during use. I’ve read that other brushes have a tendency to come apart during heavy use and that the wire bristles fly off too easily. Obviously, with steel bristles moving at high speed some of them are going to fly off, but (wearing protective clothing/glasses) this was not a problem with these brushes. They worked well and the stains, corrosion, and grit (on the grout) came off fairly easily and with minimal damage to both the brushes and the areas I was addressing. Overall, I am pleased with these brushes and would recommend them. My only negative is that they were packaged poorly with no instructions or advice on how to use properly.

> 24 hourIve not actually had a need to use this item yet, so I cant really say much about its performance. I ordered this item because this is one of those tools that people dont tend to have on hand until they actually need one even though there is a very good chance at some point most people will need it. So instead of waiting until I need it and risk not being able to afford it at that time I went ahead and got it first so it will be on hand when I do need it. It appears to be well made out of quality materials and Im confident it will perform as expected when I do need it.

> 24 hourThree different grits and three different sizes which gives you lots of versatility for many at home projects. I have several summer projects that need the paint stripper and these look perfect. They also look sturdy so will hold up well. Easy to use, too.

> 24 hourSet of three styles, each with 3 different bristle hardness. From the look and feel, they should last a while, far longer than some others I have used. Cleaner than sanding and just as effective for prepping for painting. Quite a bargain vs buying them separately from the local big box.
