This thing is super fast and lets games run so smoothly.

Ive been using Samsung drives in my main build for 6+ years now and never had a failure. This drive should be no different. I downloaded Samsung magician and made sure it shipped with the latest firmware. Runs a little warm under my motherboard heat spreader, but that seems normal for gen 4 drives without active cooling.

In total, I have three of these now. Two are in Z690 motherboards (one with an i7-13600K and another with an i5-12600K) and the other is in a Z390 (i5-9600K). For the i7 machine, the SSD is in the M.2 slot connected to the CPU directly and for the i5, its connected via the chipset. After running Crystal Disk Mark a couple of times there is no performance difference (indiscernible or otherwise) between the drive connected to the CPU directly (with the i7) and the drive connected to the chipset (with the i5). Both get close to 7GB/sec read times. Write times are about 4.5GB/sec, which is way faster than anything I need. Even though Im not totally blown away by their performance, theyre still very good SSDs.

Works Great with the PS5 and well worth the price.

This SSD is super fast, very reliable, and easy to install. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking to upgrade their system, no matter what you use your computer for it is a perfect drive for many different applications.

Great product, easy to install and massively sped up my load times on my games. Initially had a problem with it trying to boot from the SSD and not detecting my HDD with my os. Just make sure your boot device in in SATA 1 port. I had my HDD in SATA 6 for cable management reasons and the onboard M.2 comes in the boot sequence after SATA 1.

The product it self is great. But it could have not been. I ordered a big mouse pad with it and Amazon decided to ship both together in a big box... With No Padding!!! My 980 Pro was just sliding around in the big box with no protection from any side! Come on Amazon.. pack sensitive items better please. Im giving a 5 star for the product.. NOT for shipping.

Ive been using a 250 GB 970 EVO for a few years now as my Windows disk and to house some smaller games. Performance had been magnificent so when I decided to replace an aging HDD for my large games I decided to stick with Samsung and went with this 980 PRO.
