> 3 dayOrdered this for a new build because the price was right, barely costs more than a 1tb 990. Works great for me coming from 840 and 860 sata drives, way faster.

> 3 dayI bought this SSD to upgrade my 500Go C: drive and was concerned with the transition/upgrade as this is my main drive... with a USB adapter and the - FREE - Samsung Data Migration software, the whole process took less than 15min!!!! AMAZING!

> 3 dayTook 5 minutes to install. I researched a ton of internal ssd options for my PS5 and I decided on this Samsung 980 pro with heatsink. I am not disappointed!

Greater than one weekI gave 4 stars only because I ordered w/heatsink and it doesn’t fit under my laptop access cover. Consider when buying because if I had known the heatsink was going be an issue being too bulky/tall I would’ve ordered without. I’m concerned over time the plastic cover will warp or melt pressed against the heatsink. Other than that it’s lightning fast and scored high on Tom’s Hardware. It puts out some heat but I bought a laptop cooler to mitigate any overheating issues. You can never go wrong with Samsung quality products and I highly recommend as an alternative to the more expensive 990 Pro.

> 3 dayIve always had good results with Samsung SSDs, so when it came time to build a new AM5 system, they were the obvious choice. I did my homework first though. My system is fairly high end with a 7900X processor, a ROG Crosshair Hero motherboard, 64GB of G.Skill ram. Wanted to go with the 990 Pro series NVMe, but building a custom water cooled loop and all the other hardware had already cost a lot, so decided to go with the 980 pro instead, as the new Gen5 stuff is said to be coming out real soon now.
