> 3 dayi bought a 3 pack of these flash drives, and i didnt expect much. all i wanted to do was use these drives as bootable installer drives, so i can flash a bunch of computers, just like that. these drives were fantastic. they are a bit annoying to slide out of the little protective cover, especially since i cant grip the little switch nub very well. and they get hot fast, i mean hot hot, i mean like seatbelt buckle on a hot summer day hot. but otherwise, the speed was fast. fast enough. solid drive.

> 3 dayUPDATE 05-09-23 ***ZERO STARS!!!!!!! IF YOU HAVE LINUX, THIS NOW DOES NOT WORK! I am super pissed. I lost the one that worked with Linux that I bought in 2021. So I just went to orders on Amazon, found this and added to my cart thinking it was the same thing I had bought in 2021. Well, its not. I cant install the software because it does not support Linux Mint and I just opened the packaging when it arrived, sure that it was the same thing I had bought before. So now I cant return it. I dont need protection and this should just work for those who dont want or need the security. I put Amazon return labels on it to take to a print shop and resumes.....and thats it. Public information. Its over kill and my word processor has a lock feature if I really want write protections on my work. Added security is overkill and it makes this product unusable. I swear every time they improve technology you might gain something, but you will always lose something. In this instance the loss is the simplicity that makes using a flash drive a no brainer. Keep it simple, stupid.....would apply here. Sure, offer encrypt flash drives for those few people who need them, but dont force them on everyone---still offer just basic flash drives. I have been a long time Sandisk fan, having owned flash drives and even an mp3 player I still use after 10 years for working out. But F! them now. Never again. They just wasted my money and I had Amazon returns I needed to deal with that have now expired and that cost me $80. I did not realize flashdrives were operating system sensitive. I had lost the one Id previously had for more than 10 years and needed a new one recently. I now use Linux. I just walked up and grabbed one of the shelf of a brick and mortar store, not knowing they are now specific to your OS. I got it home, plugged it in and could not figure out why it would not work, until I picked up the packaging and looked closely at it. I was unable to use it, and no, the store would not take it back because it was open. How the hell would I know they have changed so much to exclude Linux users? So, I found this one and YES!!!! it works flawlessly on LInux, and I like that the USB plug retracts into the thumb drive to protect it when not in use. Thank you for making a universal one.
