> 3 dayI love this SanDisk USB flash drive, though the first time I inserted it into a USB port, it was a bit tight going in. The package says it is compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, though Im not sure if that means that it runs at 3.0 speeds. (I suspect it just means that it can be plugged into a USB 3.0 port, but will run at 2.0 speeds.) As I write this, my desktop is copying 24 GB of data to this flash drive, and it estimates that it will take eleven hours. Wow!!! Later, Ill try the same thing with another flash drive, then I will cut down the rating of the one that is slower.

> 3 dayThe purpose of this item was to hold my boyfriends music while plugged into his stereo in his car. So basically it only gets unplugged when he wants some new music (not often because it can hold 16gb of music) and so it mainly stays in his car, plugged into the stereo. With that being said I am PLEASED that this has such a tight fit. If Im careful, its fine when I plug it in. So because its so tight, it doesnt budge in the stereo while driving around, and its so small that if it did fall out, Im not sure if we would ever find it lol. For our purposes this works pretty well. If youre a student however, I dont think this would be a great choice because it is open ended, very small, and an extremely tight fit.

> 3 dayThese thumb drives will not score a speed record, but have a sleek and hopefully sturdy metal hull. Low price and modest capacity allows to give it away without hesitation if necessary.

> 3 dayVery surprised by how small this flashdrive is. Great price for the amount of storage that it provides. Comparable to the prices I saw online for stores like Best Buy and Target. Instead spending the money on had to pick up this one item, it was preferable to have it shipped to my home. Was delivered in its original packaging.

> 3 dayWhich - for me is just fine - But it is a distinction that needs to be stated loudly. Other than that I really like it and the ability to secure it w/ a password. Trying to mislead - is not ok. It is very sturdy and holds documents for my grab-n-go bag.

> 3 dayLove the fact that I can attach it to the keyring. As long as I can get into my house and drive my car, I know exactly where this TINY but important item is.

25-11-2024Its tiny & cheap and flimsy. It is hard to plug into a USB Port. I had to use a flat blade screwdriver to widen the opening on a horizontal plane. Whats worse is the VERY POOR transfer rate... Im only getting 3.5-4.0 MB/sec from my SATA Hard Drive. I have a relatively fast hard drive, and I get 25-30 MB/sec transfers on some other USB drives I own, including some other SanDisk portables that work quite well. SanDisk should be ashamed for offering this product. I cant believe that they claim USB 2.0. Bunk. Dont believe it. Im sure that this product is the results of maximizing profits at SanDrive. :( Sadly, I was foolish to buy 2 of these. You get what you pay for. Nutz! --------------------------------- In response to the factory comments, I toggled my USB BIOS on the motherboard, & I increased my d/l speed to 7.0 MB/sec on this device. Some of the other USB 2.0 small drives I own have a 14 MB/sec DL minimum and it gets better from there. With the motherboard toggle in place, I am getting a constant 25-30 MB/sec DL on my large book drive storage devices, even when I am transfering 100+ GBs of data to the portable large drive. Even with the assistance they gave, they tell me I should have bought a better product? Perhaps the Sellers should have disclosed this issue on the Amazon listing, no? My opinion of this product remains unchanged

Greater than one weekThis drive stands out from many other flash drives because it is simple, durable and it looks great. I have finally found a thumb drive that doesnt feel like it’s made of cheap plastic! This is important because I primarily use this drive as carry-around storage, so it needs to be tough as nails. A little shorter than an average house key, it fits perfectly on my key ring without getting in the way. The sturdy aluminum housing has not only held up well to the abuse it suffers while in close proximity to my keys, but it also looks great. Whenever I take it out, people like to give it a closer look because it has great lines -- very modern and futuristic. From a utility perspective, it is top notch. Because it I always have it with me, it is loaded with files and apps that come in handy in a pinch. Here are some of the things I keep on the drive: -- I have a folder with some awesome pictures of my family. This is great when visiting relatives - I can give them school pictures and family pictures for them to print. -- I keep a kid’s movie (the Lego Movie right now) on the drive at all times, 5-10 episodes of their favorite shows (Paw Patrol) and a huge folder full of music. This alone has saved my life on a number of occasions with many televisions and most cars coming with USB ports as standard connections. -- I also keep an encrypted file containing some of my passwords (managed by 1Password). While the very security conscious out there might not recommend this, I feel the risk of the drive falling into the hands of a person motivated and educated enough to decrypt this file are slim. -- There is still plenty of space for incidental file storage left on the drive – 16GB is more than enough. The physical connections to the USB port seem very solid which is often an issue with tiny drives like this. If anything, it tends to be a bit tight with some ports. While I have not personally had the types of issues that some other reviewers seem to have with this drive not fitting into USB ports, I can see how that may be a problem. I would recommend your checking the fit on your laptop or other hardware before starting to use the drive. From a speed perspective, it is about average for a USB 2.0 drive at 24 MB/s (r) and 4 MB/s (w). I have rarely been inconvenienced by the speed, but for those who want to edit right off the device or use it as a network-storage disk, you may want to consider a faster drive. Overall, this drive has been an indispensable component of my EDC (every day carry) and is a solid piece of hardware for a variety of uses.

> 3 dayThis USB flash drive is the perfect size (smaller than what I expected but I’m glad it was), which is smaller than a quarter. The program to setup and use the password protection on this is a little confusing for someone like me who insists on only reading directions if all else fails but I did figure it out after about ten minutes of playing around with it. Seems well put together but I wish it would have came with a lanyard which I bought separately for it.
