I bought these for my elderly Parents as they have expressed a desire to document all the items they want to leave behind for their four children after they are gone. My Mom is writing down the items as well as taking photos and then I shall be transferring that info to the Cruzer jump drive that has that particular childs name on it. Hopefully this will make things very clear during what will be a sad and difficult time for our family. Together with my parents I suggested this solution even though shes not computer savvy. She takes the photos. etc and then I transfer the info to the correctly marked pen drive. These are nice and small and I kept one for myself to put my medical records to keep on my key ring. That way if I am unconscious and taken to hospital, the emergency room personnel can pop it in their computer via the USB port and see my info. They also have a bit of security feature added but I havent used it yet. As I was originally looking for 1 or 2GB drives I found these were actually a better buy and with 8GB each. Great deal. There were 2 lanyards instead of five. Not sure why that is but that wasnt an issue for me as I always change my lanyards to be long enough to wear as sort of a necklace, so about 20 or more.

Good, cheap, and large storage. And fast enough to stream a 7gb digital film directly from the drive. I wish that they came in assorted colors so you could tell them apart.

This is the one you need at the right price point for storing files to if you want to get those files back in the future. I use these to store OS images on for deployment on other machines and they are excellent for that purpose. I also use these to store family photos on. They are a bit slow on the writing side but, way more than worth it for their reliability and durability. Cant go wrong with SanDisk

It is nice to have several of these for casual transfers of lots of photos or music to friends and relatives.

These 8GB SanDisk thumb drives worked just fine nd were pretty cheaply priced.... The lanyards are a joke, unless youre a hobbit.

We have 4 kids who all need a flash drive when school starts. To buy one for each of them is super expensive, especially at back to school time. We like to buy the bulk pack and everyone gets there drive and we stay in our budget.

needed one, but got the 5pack since it made financial sense given the cost difference. use one for home, for work, for school, for whatever. never had a problem with sandisk memory products.

These SanDisk Cruzer Blade 8gb USB flash drives are everything you would want in a low cost, bare bones thumb drive for temporary storage and file transfers. Ive also used them to make bootable USB drives for various LInux distros. They are super light and cheap feeling, so I would not recommend this product for extended and repeated use of critical files. They are only USB 2.0, but they still provide decent speed and are very handy to have around the office. I would buy more of these flash drives in the future.

Only used 3 so far - no issues - am using them for boot USBs for our household machines (Vista, Win 7 Win8 and Server) for backup and for boot issue resolution along with R&D on other test machines - if ther are any long-term issues i will update this review - so far soo good

You need to be aware these are slow transfer. They work ok in my case.
