SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ600 32GB Sdcz600-032GB USB 3.0 Jump Drive Pen Drive Flash Drive

One of the best USB drives I have. Indeed, since I bought some of this brand a few months ago, a similar model, I decided to buy a few more. And I am happy that the locking mechanism is very effective and at the same time easy to operate. Reccomend!

I have owned this flashdrive for about four and half months. I worked fabulous for the first 3.5 months. Just in the past month it kept popping up with an error about it being write-protected. It would let you copy stuff off of the flashdrive, but not put anything on it, or edit any documents that were already on there. My techy friend tried fixing it, but nothing worked, so currently trying to get a refund. Update: Since the amazon return period had ended I had to contact SanDisk customer service so I did. They were extremely helpful and said to send it back (which I was a little leer to do, since I couldnt erase anything but did since I didnt have any personal things on it), which I did. About three weeks later they sent me a new one free of charge, so all in all it ended well.

On the Amazon website, many commenters thought it would had an LED, but some said it depends on where it was manufactured. The one I received does not have one. As far as im concerned, a flash drive without an indicator is worthless.

I purchased this to make a recovery backup for my new Win10 computer. It was recommended to use a USB flash drive that could last for many years without use before it was needed. SanDisk has a great reputation and the price was also very good. It came in a very secure card, hard plastic cover to protect it. It was hard to get out of packing, that was good. I plugged it in, the system recognized it and I made the backup without and problems. It is USB 3.0 but it still took a couple hours to copy over my operating system (16 GB). Now I just need to put in safe place and remember where I put it if it is ever needed. My hard drive (1 TeraByte) will eventually fail and Ill need this to get the operating system back. I have a separate system to backup my data which takes a much larger device. I have a 6TB backup drive for the data. I try to back up the data twice a year. Next eventual purchase will be a SSD for that purpose.

One great thing that distinguishes SanDisk from other USB drives is that each one comes with a piece of software that allows you to password-protect the content and protect it with 128 bit AES encryption. Its and optional feature that can be easily activated with a custom password.

Nothing to dislike. All is well.

LED does not work. Purchased 5, NONE of the LEDs light. Tested across several desktops, laptops, and ports.
