> 3 dayI used the kerdi membrane for sealing my shower and it was very simple to do, if you are some what of a handyman, and the install of the drain was very straight forward in the directions. Plus schluter has a bunch of videos that break down each process step by step to make you feel like a pro.

> 3 dayInstall, fit, and finish upon install was great. However, I strongly suggest you give a lot of thought to choosing between this brushed nickel finish (which is anodized aluminum) and schluters stainless option. This is because the anodized finish is readily damaged by anything alkaline. If you read the fine print, you cant even get wet mortar on the anodized grate/frame without damaging its finish. A lot of mild enzyme cleaners which dont damage any other fixture, will likely damage this grate (like it did mine). Really wish I would have just gone with the stainless grate so I dont have do a chemistry research project any time I use a cleaner.

> 3 dayI got it in, but it wasnt all that easy. When it came to putting the tile around it it was a real pain in the &%$. It looks beautiful and In am happy with the quality and the finished project. If you know what you are doing it will be easier than it was for me.

> 3 dayIn my “pandemic shower” project I wanted to use this to connect the shower pan tile to the drain pipe. It was over twice the price, locally, and came almost immediately. As I knew that I would need this part well before it went in, the price was the Amazon clincher to me.

> 3 dayGood, necessary element to the Kerdi system. If you find the grate is extremely difficult to slide in the shaft (which I have for every one) slice off the tabs with a utility blade such that the grate will sit in the cylinder with friction but will not slide down freely and make your install more difficult. I set the bottom flange in thinset and push it tight to the pan and then build up under the grate with thinset and seat it down (need full support). Make sure to protect the grate with tape. I cover it with clear packing tape, flip the grate over and cut away all the excess. I make sure to then fully seat all the tape around the edge. Spend some time and make sure it doesn’t overhangs and stick into the void where the grout will meet the grate. Remove it at the end after grout.
