This is the first time we bought the special sized pieces - had tried to cut the main piece to fit in the past. By using this, it went faster, was neater and in my opinion will be less likely to have any problems with moisture.

> 24 hourNew to doing my own tiling of shower/bath surrounds. On the first bathroom I used the cheap traditional gray wire type mesh and it doesn’t stick well even though it’s “self-adhesive” and was a pain to cover well with mortar plus the top edge was beyond my tile edge and nearly impossible to cover and make look smooth once I used drywall compound and paint. I used The Kerdi mesh on the second bathroom and it is smooth and easy to apply Mapei water defense to. It left no holes or gaps for water to leak through. Kerdi brand products are pricey but I think this one is worth it from my experience.
