A little crude, but hey, its written for the modern day and were all a little more crude now. Bill Murray plays a TV Executive (youngest named to president) that is putting on a live multi-country show on Christmas Eve. His previous dead boss visits him and says that he is doing it all wrong and needs to change, just to make his point he will be visited by 3 ghosts. What follows is how he responds to those visits by rather crude ghosts and the reality that they show him.

Jeder von uns braucht einen Spiegel, irgendjemanden der uns sagt, was wir falsch machen auf das wir unsere Fehler bereuen und nochmal ganz von vorn anfangen. Ohne einen solchen Spiegel glauben wir, alles richtig zu machen und plötzlich ist man - oh Wunder, ganz ganz allein. Dickes Auto, Unternehmer, Geld - aber wenn man krank wird ist niemand für einen da. Warum? Weil man ein Egoist ist, der nur an sich denkt. In diesem Film kann man sich selbst wiederfinden. Die Produktion ist schon etwas älter, der Streifen verliert aber nicht an Aktualität oder Wert, sondern gewinnt immer mehr hinzu. Dies ist auch einer der Movies, die man haben muss. Es gibt keine Entschuldigung dafür, diesen Film nicht zu haben. Manche Dinge sind einfach Pflicht und diese DVD gehört dazu.

True holiday classic. I remember watching this when I was young and its just as much fun as it was then as it is now! BILL MURRAY IS THE BEST!

But I only had it on an VHS tape. I wanted to replace that last year but the Amazon reviews of the available DVD warned me that someone had decided that a Christmas movie is for children so they cut out all the dirty jokes. That meant about half the movie. I wonder how they treated the man frozen to death.....? I know that as a kid that wouldve given me nightmares.

Der film ist perfekt für die weihnachtszeit. Ich liebe ihn, weil er witzig ist und trotzdem die wahr bedeutung von weihnachten vermittelt.

Another Classic!

Alliteration aside, Scrooged is in my must watch christmas movies. Its up there w/ Vacation and the other christmas comedies.

Bill Murry is perfect for this and the other actors fit perfectly too. Aggressive young Murry works to become rude demanding network executive. I would have preferred when he says- will you hold down the %#^^^# hammering, he could have eased off that. But I just like this very much, and the ending for me is superior. Just say HERE. I like it, have a few DVDs of it, and like streaming this. I find very good quality on my okd Panasonic plasma 55 tv.

There was a scene when the ghost, the one driving a taxi/cab, shot right to the top of the skyscraper to bring Scrooge (Bill Murray) to see Crachit in super fast speed - deleted from the dvd. I thought that was quite funny. Why the hell did they delete this scene from the dvd version? WHY DID THE IDIOTS DO SUCH A LOUSY THING? WHY?
