Greater than one weekI think this was the key nutrient my plants lacked. I thought they were getting enough from the fish but no, a big tank and micro fish needs a little bit supplementation.

> 3 dayDosed this according to instructions in my heavily planted, co2 injected 10 gallon, and within 3 days I lost two fish, a harlequin rasbora and a gorgeous black orchid betta. I had zero fish deaths in this relatively new tank prior to this. Naturally, I dont know for sure that this is what caused it (although it was the only change Id made recently), but with such a strong coincidence Im reluctant to use it again. Prior to using, my parameters were 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate. I suspect that if anything, it wasnt the product but the sudden change that killed them. My remaining harlequin rasbora does not look happy, either. Hopefully it will pull through.

> 3 dayBeware!!!...use with caution!!! With a heavily planted and stocked tank, i decided to give this product a try. I dosed according to the beginners dose with all parameters wnl (weekly water change earlier), putting it in the tank before bed....my bad on that (perhaps i should have dosed during day with lights on) because i woke with 2 dead parrot fish, 1 ghost knife, 1 chinese algae eater and 1 black skirt!!!!! A quick water check revealed nitrates off the chart!!!!....lesson learned: leave this product alone (for me)

> 3 dayThis should be used with the other 2 macro nutrients for your plants ( Phosphorus and Potassium). You can also buy all three of them together, but buying bulk like this is best. If you have a large planted tank I would suggest going with dry ferts. but this is a good product to get into fertilizing. it has easy to follow instructions and is liquid which is easy to work with. no need to buy measuring spoons either. Their instructions include using the cap. for beginner instructions They suggest 2.5ml (half a cap) for each 40 gallons. So if you have a 20 gallon and continue with the beginner dosing this package would last you maybe 3.8 years. Overall this is good stuff. if you stay on schedule with all of your macro nutrients you will notice a difference. This product will also help to reduce certain types of algae like brown algae (or Diatoms).
