This Seagate FireCuda isnt a substitute for a NVME SSD, but its stupidly fast for a mechanical hard drive. 268 Mb/sec sequential read and write, random read 732 IOPS, random write 4638 IOPS. That last number, random write, is what very often slows down a mechanical drive. And high quality drives typically are somewhere in the hundreds, never mind over 4000. In real world use, this drive can almost keep up with a SATA SSD.
