> 3 dayThe drive works fine and installed easily as my Time Machine backup drive for Mac OS. Has been working fine for about a month now with no issues. I didnt use any of the included setup software. I just plugged it in, formatted it, and was on my way. However, I can definitely hear it spinning--a constant low-level whine/hum here on my desk. Its not terribly loud, but definitely audible. I guess Ive just become so used to the silence of SSDs that I forgot what spinning, disk-based drives sounded like. So, thats the only reason I deducted 1 star.

Thankful for the hard drive easy use and no issue with it yet!! If cant afford 4gb hard drive this good for those who cant afford more expensive hard drive!! Highly recommend for xbox or laptop. It sucks i had format it to xbox and cant longer use it laptop or computer but thst fine cause main purpose i bought was for my console

Greater than one weekLove how much space I now have. I bought this when it was on sale and it has honestly been one of my better investment. It hooks right up to my Xbox and it’s easily portable and transferable too.

> 3 dayIve used the Seagate before and Im back for more. This show the high quality of the product. It works great and goes about the job quietly that you will forget you have it as a back up for your computer. I will recommend.

Greater than one weekIt was not especially difficult to set up the Seagate Backup Plus Slim for use by Time Machine, on our 2014 MacBook running OS 10.9. I have used it also after I upgraded the laptop to OS 10.12. A quirk I didnt expect was the laptop must be using the AC adapter or Time Machine wont back up to the drive. It limits this methods usefulness for a laptop compared to for a desktop computer. I have used it a few months and it seems to work fine, although I havent tried to retrieve anything yet from the drive. All I have to do is just plug the drive and the power supply, of course, into the Macbook. However, one time I plugged the drive in only to find later that it wasnt communicating with the computer. After I unplugged the drive and plugged it back in, it was fine. The takeaway is to verify by looking for the drives icon on the desktop. On the other hand, I once left the drive upside down, and it still seemed to work okay. But I wouldnt recommend doing it. The 2 TB is more than we need for this laptop. I had wondered whether I could partition the disk and use it to back up with Time Machine on 2 Macs. But I didnt expect it, and it doesnt seem possible since Time Machine reformats the whole disk as a single volume. Im pleased with the purchase, though, were I to get another external drive for a Macbook, I might see whether a LaCie would be more advantageous.

Greater than one weekI like the fact you just plug it in to your computer and save everything on it. Slim, sleek look and easily portable. NO issues thus far and very pleased. I do advise to get the $10 compatible case to keep it protected and for transporting. Highly recommend this product.
