> 3 dayI dont like the contained software so I wiped it off, but I DO like the product. Its small, doesnt need external power and works as expected.

> 3 dayI purchased 10 of these drives to use in a Ubiquiti Cloud Key Gen 2. All 10 drives died after only a few months of use. The drives were not under a lot of stress or in an enclosure that had a lot of heat. I tried going through their tech support for assistance and got nothing but the runaround for several weeks without any help. A complete waste of time. Do not buy these drives as they are completely unreliable and will fail you if you use them for a few hours per day. I have 30+ years of IT experience and have used tons of drives over the years with great support, but these by far are the worst drives I have ever purchased.

> 3 dayI wanted to keep all my files on one of these and back up my files to another one. Seagate does not allow this so I had to return my drives and start all over with another company.

> 3 dayI’d been advised to get a 2TB external hard drive to back up my entire Mac mini contents before purchasing and transferring my data to my new Mac mini. This 5TB HD is much more room than I’ll ever need, but the price was so reasonable, and this way, after loading everything onto my new computer, I can just leave this plugged into the Mac mini so it can continuously keep backing up the data every night. I also bought a case to transport it safely to the store and back just to be safe. I called the Seagate phone and a nice lady in Toronto guided me through setting it up and starting the backup procedure. Allow a lot of time; I had so much in my computer that it had to work overnight. But now I’m all set for the foreseeable future.

> 3 dayYou ever wonder what you could do with 5 terabytes of your own cloud, just skip the cloud get an external hard drive well Ill tell you you can copy the cover art and 4000 Blu-rays and DVD movies. You could also used it to backup your computer so you never ever have to worry about ransomware. All this at a reasonable price.

> 3 dayWorks perfectly right out of the box. Didn’t rate tech support because I didn’t need to use it.

> 3 dayIve had good results with Seagate drives before and this seems to be just as reliable. It may be of interest to some people that it is a third the size of my other 5TB drives... My new iMac has no problems with it; I dont use some of the supplemental software that came with the drive. The device works with the USB 3.0 hub I bought recently, which is a real plus as some of my other drives wont. It is as fast as Id hoped, moving large files quickly; I make archival-quality photo scans of 50MB and it effortlessly moves folders crammed with images. Based on results at this point, Id say it is exactly what I was looking for.

> 3 dayObviously there are larger storage options. While I can say that this is a great option for portability, for some reason it ejects from my pc constantly. I don’t have this issue with any of my other hard drives or equipment. However, it could just be the one that I have.
