Stupid expensive due to no competition since its a proprietary xbox design. It works fine though. YOU CAN USE AN EXTERNAL HDD FOR OLDER GAMES. For the full power of the series S and X youre stuck with this. Hopefully, third party xbox SSDs will be avaliable at some point to ease the price a little. If youre able, Id wait for that. If not, youre stuck with this one or the 2 TB version for even more cash.

Due shortages of Series X consoles, I bought a Series S and quickly learned how little storage I had to work with. No fuss, just instant storage expansion when plugged in. I plan on getting a Series X at sometime and I am positive it will be easy to move games between consoles. Leave the X at home and take the S and/or the expansion card on the road, or to a friends house. it isnt low cost but it has good value and performance for the money.

Too costly for the offering. Same amount and quality of memory for anything else other than something exclusive to Xbox would have been about half the cost.

Bought it to expand my better half’s series S storage. Product is much smaller than I thought (having never seen one before), which is pretty impressive. Easy to install and use. My only gripe is the astronomical price…. After tax it’s less than $100 below the cost of a brand new series S… Robbery if you ask me. At the end of the day though, ‘tis a good product and does what it needs to do

Id give it a 5 if it costed slightly less or if it costed the same but with more storage. However, its plug&play convenience and speed makes the product worth it if you can afford to almost pay the cost of a Series S. I have both the Series X and PS5, and the convenience for performance is hard to argue against - especially when compared to the PS5s storage offerings.

Using with XBox Series S.

I bought a 5 TB hard drive for $115. This is a 1 TB for $200. Microsoft/xbox/senate is making it so you are REQUIRED to buy this overpriced hard drive just to play optimized games. Internal space for x/s only allows so many games and any other brand hard drive wont let you play optimized x/s games, the game HAS to be installed on internal for it to work. This extends that internal storage. Its the ONLY hard drive that works for x/s games and it is TWICE as much as a FIVE TERABYTE.

The ssd is as it says and works great.just as fast as internal storage.but damn thats a lot of money for a 1tb ssd.but it is that or keep deleting and reinstalling.

Overheats and shuts down when using it.
