I am keeping the pants although it has an issue. I am 58, 158 lbs. I usually wear a 14; ordered instead 16. The fit is perfect. I have very long legs...and thats were the problem is..slightly too long. I folded the waist and problem corrected. If the legs are long for me, I would think twice in ordering the pants.

I find myself often bored with books. With no result or meaning to them, but this book I could not put down. As it was relatable and beautiful to read. Every chapter of Siddharthas journey gave insight for anyone to benefit from. I reccomend this book to anyone who would like to reach deeper understanding of the self.

This book came to me at a perfect time along my path. Using words to describe the beauty of the book is beyond me. I am grateful for finding it and hope it comes at a perfect time for all who read it

I loved this book. Definitely gave me Alchemist (Paul Coelho) vibes...another book I also love. Lots of life lessons. Great story.

This book is the narrative fiction about a searchers life (Siddhartha) of a spiritual right path for himself, in ancient India, at the time of Gotama Buddha. His search has led him from being a young Brahmin (a Hindu of the highest caste traditionally assigned to the priesthood - Websters Dictionary) to becoming a samana (a wandering ascetic), to meeting the Buddha, to being the lover of a courtesan, Kamala, to becoming a rich merchant, and to ending up finally as an enlightened ferryman. The most interesting things about this book are the Hindu and Buddhist concepts interspersed throughout in not any particularly organized form. The main things are the oneness of all things, the looking into oneself, the mindful presence, love as the most important thing and the impactful Om sound which Hesse states as the perfection . If you like to think about things spiritual and are interested in Eastern thoughts, then this book is for you. Hesse has a special way of putting things and ideas subtly and deeply, as far as it can go. The following quotes are for the readers to get the drift of his narration. No, there was no teaching a truly searching person, someone who truly wanted to find, could accept. But he who had found, he could approve of any teachings, every path, every goal, there was nothing standing between him and all the other thousand any more who lived in that what is eternal, who breathed what is divine. (The Ferryman) Perhaps that youre searching far too much? That in all the searching, you dont find the time for finding? (Govinda)

Hesses books have always found me in very specific moments, Steppen wolf first marked me as it showed that theres a place for all and everyone of us. Now Siddhartha, has shown me that I/we have been looking too far, learning from others, and lost track. Put it down after finished, but still in/with it in my head. One of my professors in college said a good book is like and axe has struck your head. Well Siddhartha is a double strike, one to the head and one to the soul.

For me, this book sincerely impacts my world view. I first read out in high school as a class assignment. It didnt speak to me at that time. Years later I picked it up off the shelf. (In all honesty, I wanted a lightweight, easy-to-carry paperback book for the waiting room at the dentists office.) I learned then lessons that I simply was not capable of understanding when I was am adolescent. Since then, I reread Siddhartha once every our so. I understand that this book does not speak to everyone, but the life-long pursuit expressed by Siddharthas spiritual and physical journey illustrate, to me, such crucial truths.

I bought the hardcopy 5 years ago and read twice. This time I bought an e-copy so that I could read anywhere in the world and do not need to carry it with me. A very good book to read to understand life and human suffering.

When I was in my mid-teens Siddartha was a coming of age journey about the search and discovery of what might be down the more difficult path. As a teacher I used this book for many years ( the discovery of sex had to be glossed over of course) to take both young men and women on the journey to find out who they were and what maybe they would like to be given the strictures of parental morality and public school dishonesty. This book I sent as a gift to someone who has taken many journeys, none of which led to that `ah ha` moment. They feel as if there is no tomorrow, and no more inviting pathways. The person is in their mid-40s. I am hoping that Mr. Hesses short novel can rekindle in this person the curiosity they once had about their unfolding world, and hope that through Siddartha that they can rekindle the hope required to take on a new difficult road with an open mind ready to take in new possibilities.
