I checked out this video and the book that goes with it recently because we were trying to find some of the signs my daughters other videos did not have in them. I really enjoyed watching it and learned many new signs. However; it is a bit outdated and very long if you watch it straight through. I highly recommend you watch this video in sections. I like that it has many tips for helping your loved one learn sign language and for parents to encourage more sign language use. I also like the signing section at the end of the DVD. The quickly and alphabetically go through a number of signs. This helped me a lot to learn the signs that we were looking for. I recommend this video to parents that are starting out sign language training with a baby. It was a good resource. It helped us utilize our Signing Time knowledge and now our little one signs all the time.

Best one weve used so far. A must for anyone teaching their baby to sign. We absolutely Love it! Thanks Joseph Garcia!

We used this with both of our boys. It takes practice, but it does pay off. Both were telling us what they wanted long before they could verbalize. This saved us from frustration and crying tantrums. That was my main reason for using it. But it is also fun to see what the children were thinking about and talk to them about it before they had actual language to do so.

This is more for parents to learn and not so much for babies to watch. That said, it was pretty good!

Im currently mute, so i brought this dvd think it could help me and my baby learn some baby sign language together. I thought this would be a teaching video not a benefits video. Cause for me i already know the benefits since im unable to talk myself. So i was very disappoint. Guess i should have stuck with utube videos, cause i have learned way more there. This video should have been called this is why u should sign with your baby.

Teaching your baby/toddler sign language is so beneficial that I dont understand why everyone isnt doing it. My 21 month old has been signing since she was 9 months old. I think she is so easy going because since understanding the concepts she has been able to ask for what she wants like: help, more food, or tell me when she doesnt like something by signing finished, etc. I feel like all parents should do whatever they can to make life an enjoyable experience for their children (one that is balanced with play and learning) and this is a great way to make them happier, not to mention you as well. This DVD is 15 mins of how to sign with your baby and the benefits of it and a vocab menu that shows you how to produce certain signs. It isnt difficult to start, you only start with a few signs. The hard part is identifying your babys version of the sign once they start producing so you can reinforce it. It does not delay speech (my daughter is a chatter box). In fact there are arguments that it enhances speech because the child learns earlier there is a word assigned with an item/concept/etc. and how to manipulate that concept by engaging it through signing. I like Sign with your Baby because it uses real ASL signs (most of which make sense so theyre easy to remember) and Joseph Garcia is not annoying to watch. If you cannot afford this you can rent it from your local library.
