> 3 dayBought for my sons PS4. 3 stars for unknown hard drive brand and didnt pull it out to check. PS4 just says Silicone Power or whatever. Works so far, no issues as yet. 4th star is for the case. I never LOVE on any rating.

> 3 dayGood hard drive, the casing is a bit bulky but I assume thats because of the drop resistance. Integrated cable holder is very useful. Havent had occasion to test the water- or drop-resistance yet (thankfully) but it seems sturdy enough. Be aware that the hard drive itself is 5400 RPM, possibly even 5200 RPM, so the access speed will be noticeably slower than the drive in your computer even if you dont have an SSD. Its great for system backups and archiving files but not a good choice for gaming. Also the drive comes formatted as FAT32, so to get the best performance out of it youll have to reformat the drive as NTFS - easy to do, but it takes a while thanks to the access speed.

> 3 dayTheres a couple of leds that should indicate at which speed is the disk working, blue for USB3 and red for USB2. The shock resistance of the disk is amazing. Ive not performed any drop tests to see how it handles falling off (obviously) but Im confident that it should withstand your regular accidental drops from a table. No word on the water resistance, which probably isnt precisely great, but should survive to a little bit of light rain. The disk likes to go into sleep mode quite often, which might be a little irritating for sparse access to it. I recommend doing all of your read/writes in one big batch. I guess the disk does it to reduce the risk of shocks causing any damage. The little hooks for the included cable are easy to lose. So, thats a bummer. Overall, it is a good disk for the traveler that, hopefully, wont get soaking wet.

> 3 dayIve had this new hard drive for a week or two, and it looks great but there are a couple of problems. Its a little slow to connect sometimes, so when I attempt to open a folder on the drive Ill get a not available message and have to wait a few seconds and try again. A little annoying since my last hard drive didnt do that, but not a big deal. The main problem is that its now not recognizing a folder at all. All of the file names are scrambled and I cant open them at all -- not even after disconnecting the drive and reconnecting it a few minutes later. Im still troubleshooting so there may be a fix, but its pretty frustrating to have to deal with this with a new device.

> 3 dayColor is nice. I dont like the cord holders. They are sharp to the hands. I took them off. The speed is 30% less than my 500GB Silicon Power orange version. Both are 5400 rpm, so I dont know why. Im talking about making system images for Linux and Windows. Also slower to copy paste 18GB mixed files from a fast SSD.

> 3 dayThis is a nice looking hard drive and I love that the cable attaches directly to it. The only problem with that is if you plan to put it into a a case made for these hard drives (like the amazon basic one I bought for it, it will not fit with the cable attached so you will need to remove the cable before storing it in the case. Transfer speed seems normal. Their widget that will schedule backups or transfers is VERY PRIMITIVE and not user friendly. This function needs a lot of work! This is why it got 4 stars out of 5. If it were up to my dad (which is whom I bought it for), he would have NEVER figured out the backup feature of this drive using its own software.

> 3 dayRecieved the EHD in a timely manner which I greatly appreciate, upon opening the package i was pleasantly surprised by the sleek look and the quality feel of it. My previous hd had experienced a few minor falls and had developed a clicking noise which led me to buy a new harddrive and i opted for a shockproof one, I dont plan to test their claims on how well it withstands falls but in case it does happen, looking at the armor it has and the solid build I feel like it will do its job well. As to transfer rate speeds, this external harddrive blows anything ive previously owned out of the water. Thank you Silicon Power for another quality product :)

> 3 dayI rarely write reviews, but I had to because I came to buy another one of these (after 6 years of GREAT use) and I see people slandering this AMAZING hardrive. I am a content creator (vlogger) on Facebook and YouTube and thus make a lot of videos, store and access a lot of files. I travel a lot. Internationally, and I live full time in an RV. This hardrive has been to Africa, South America, Central America, Caribbean, and Mexico. It has been in a backpack, international checkout, in my purse, hanging from me laptop, and edit bays cross country. I dont abuse the device, but it has taken some bangs and has been FAITHFUL. FAITH-FULL!! I use this instead of the PC hardrive (because PC hardrives fail. But not this!) Im buying a new one because the bios drivers on my new PC crashed while I was broadcasting and corrupted this disk. Im doing data recovery and guess what? The Files are STILL THERE! I need a new drive to transfer my precious files to while I format the old drive to use again) and Im back here and see ppl speaking ill about this amazing drive?! Not on my watch! Ive dropped this, its banged against the sides of tables at coffee shops. It has fallen (and held tight to the USB cord without damaging my computer, or shorting, or weakening in any way! ). Ive lost files before with other drives. I know how fragile they can be. Thats why Im writing this review, to advise anyone who may be wondering what to get and you dont know who is a complainer or who is too easily impressed. You can choose who you want to listen to, however, I am telling you, I BROADCAST LIVE STREAMS around the WORLD with this hardrive, it accesses the files without any lag or delay, and it stands up to international travel, drops, and bangs. That is MY WORD! I dont know these other commenters (or whether they work for the competition) but I know ME! (Im a public figure). And I am telling you, this hardrive is LEGIT! This is the drive I trust my work videos and family photos on. Boom!

> 3 dayI have had no problems with this. Its functioning as my auto-backup for my computer and works well. The cord holder is kind of gimmicky. It will pop out and its something that my dog would eat without a second thought if he found it on the floor. If you are really into cord systems, this probably isnt a great cord system. I like the fact that there is a rubbery plastic piece that covers the usb plug, which helps to keep out dust and some (maybe) environmental moisture, but it isnt a weather proof seal by any means. This should work fine for people who dont have extreme requirements for their external hard drive. It seems like it would travel well and I like the lime green color.

> 3 dayI decided to get this for a motorcycle trip, and I was afraid that the shaking would make my other drives die on me. This Hard Drive spent 13 days on a motorcycle case being vibrated constantly for 3-6 hours a day, and it still works, it holds all my photos and videos and never gave me any issues. Thats a win in my book.
