Saves me a trip to the pet store by buying these in multipacks. Put off good heat, just have to see how long they last

I found that I have to vent the box my chicks are in because it gets a bit too hot. As for longevity, this is my first time trying a bulb like this so I have no idea how long they should last. Hopefully will keep my chicks warm through winter.

These are very nice lights last a long time.. my temperature gage quit working after 3 days.. but I would still buy the heating bulbs..

I bought both the heating lightbulb and 2 lamps. All are phenomenal and very sturdy. The lamp itself has a super strong grip which was my main concern because I didnt want it to fall into my tank. It also rotates and holds its place easily. The lightbulb is heavy and good quality. I have a 50gallon tank and 1 lamp/bulb heats the whole 1 side of the tank perfectly. I havent left it on long enough to test its limits I just use it for temp control for my hermit crabs and turn it off around 75-80. FYI the heating bulb makes the metal lamp shade thingy really hot, which should have been obvious to me but I was just really excited putting it together and burned my fingers a little bit trying to turn it.

The elements get pretty hot, enough to burn you. They take a few minutes to come up to temp, and also take probably about ten minutes to cool off. This gives pretty even heating if connected to a thermostat. I use two of them in a 15ft² rabbit hutch and they work great.

This is a great little heat source for my off season chicks and there is no light. Things can be fairly close to it without melting like a regular heat lamp.
