> 3 dayBought this to control outside patio lights so it had to be weather resistant, and it is. Product is very easy to install, scan bar code on product itself - not the manual or box - you are essentially up and running. Alexa integration works as well - only wish I could customize the name of each plug as there are 2, minor issue that I am sure can be addressed in future software updates.

> 3 dayI connected this to my furnace and attic fan. I did this so I could set automation to turn the furnace off if the smoke alarm went off or if a leak was detected in the overflow pan. It worked great but there was a flaw where it would stay off if there was a power interruption even if it was set to last state or on in the settings. More than once it was off for a few hours. I set routines to turn it on every couple of hours as a work around, but it still meant my ac would be off for awhile if there was even just a quick brownout. Fortunately they just released a firmware update that addressed this and now it will resume the last state after a power failure. If you have Yolink make sure you occasionally check for new firmware updates by going into the settings for the device.

21-11-2024YoLink integrates well with my Alexa based smart home. The range of these products are great for outdoor use too.

> 3 dayI really like the YoLink stuff. Once you have the hub it’s easy to add accessories like this switch unit and program them with your phone. Had this one set up in less than 5 minutes.

Greater than one weekFunctionally, the YoLink Smart Outdoor Plug timer is another welcome addition to the YoLink enterprise of IOT. Designed for outside use and outside plugs, it has a short length of cabling to plug it into a protected outside outlet, allowing it to dangle below the outlet and close the outdoor outlet cover. See picture I have several older mechanical plug-in timers I cannot use outside because they will not fit inside the outdoor plug outlet cover. Each YoLink Smart Outdoor Plug has two outlets, each of which can be individually programmed with Schedules to come on and go off at separate times. Or you can ignore the scheduling portion and just use it as a 2-plug outlet addition with the YoLink Plug outlets live at all times. Programming them was intuitive, just remembering when creating a schedule, to tap the white check mark in the app, turning the check mark green, before leaving the “creating-a-Schedule” screen. The green check mark prompts a save of the newly created schedule. If you are new to the YoLink environment, remember you have to set up and establish a working hub to manage your YoLink “network”. I have 2 hubs. As YoLink advertises, they will not work on a 5 GH channel, just 2.4 GH channel. Secondly, a continuing frustration is that they absolutely will not ride on my house WiFi, but must be connected to the router or router satellite station via ethernet. Perhaps some people have succeeded with hubs being incorporated via house WiFi, but despite phone conversations and lengthy e-mails, WiFi is just not part of the YoLink solution at my house. YoLink also warns of this WiFi-less possibility. Repositioning the hub away from router without WiFi is limited by the length of the ethernet cable. The cable I got from YoLink was 3 feet. I bought the new Plug specifically to handle Holiday Lights on the house. Specific negative comments on the physical design of the Smart Outdoor Plug: 1. There are rubber plug covers so if you’re not using one plug, it can stay covered. The covers are not attached via a flap to the Plug unit. So when they come off, you have to remember where they are. I’ve already resigned to the fact that they’ll never be used again because I’ll lose them. 2 Most holiday lights come equipped with a two-prong plug which means that the ground plug hole in the YoLink Plug will not be covered. See pictures. 3. The end of the Outdoor Plug that contains the 2 plug outlets has a raised perimeter which limits the size of the plug that can be inserted into the Outdoor Plug. One of my outdoor holiday lights had a plug that was 1 inch X 1.3 inches and I was just at the limit of using it in the YoLink Plug. You can tell from the picture that the holiday light plug it is actually riding up from the YoLink Plug, so it is not flush with the unit. But just long enough to make contact and be usable. If the plug were any larger in either dimension I would not be able to plug it into the YoLink Plug.

> 3 dayThe yolink products works great with Alexa (or I guess any other fancy name) but one thing that is missing is the dimmer feature. Can you please add it since its very helpful for reducing brightness of the outdoor lights.

> 3 dayDual outdoor switch with independently controlled outlets. Extremely simple setup and use. Switching sometimes incurs a delay or fails to respond, but 2nd try or waiting a little results in solid operation. Very handy for outdoor string lights.

23-11-2024I don’t think there is a easier pairing for smart devices than this. And I am confident there isn’t a smart device out there with this kind of range.

> 3 dayRequires their proprietary hub. Would be 5 stars if it would connect to any brand of LoRaWAN hub...
