Greater than one weekAccording to Lucas-Milhaupts (manufacturer) product information published on their website Silvabrite 100 was developed as a low-cost alternative to the standard Silvabrite (96.5% tin, 3.5% silver) soft solder. Standard Silvabrite has a lower flow point than Silvabrite 100 (+430F vs. +660F) but similar melt point (+430F vs. +440F). It works well with general purpose soldering flux and is ideal for sweating copper pipe in plumbing work. I almost never get a leaking joint with Silvabrite. Ive never used Silvabrite 100 but its probably okay. However, standard Silvabrite, THE REAL DEAL is available from other sources for about the same price as Silvabrite 100 from Amazon ($35.97). I paid $37.50 for a one pound spool of 1/8 diameter standard Silvabrite at a local welding supply.

> 3 dayI had some old solder and sweated a couple joints recently and had a couple leakers. That is pretty rare for me. I bought this and I could tell a distinct difference from the big box store stuff. Yes i paid more but considering where once of the joints started leaking and the difficulty of access I would have gladly paid more. Then a friend asked me why I didnt use one of the solderless joints. Well, basically because I am old school and it never even entered my mind. Next time I will consider access and difficulty and perhaps just do the slip on joints. That would have saved time, money and aggravation.

> 3 dayAfter years of using cheap solder Im very happy to say I bought the stuff to try out. This combined with a high quality flux has made soldering a snap. Its very similar to how the old style leaded solder used to flow. I will no longer use the cheap quality that the companies provide me. This is the best solder on the market without a doubt. Well worth every penny
