Makes soldering easier. I keep one if these in my mobile soldering kit. Great for drone racers, car electronics, etc.

I love this Solderm8! It’s designed to be used when soldering wires to LED strips, but I use it to hold two wires together while I solder them. I removed the strip of metal that sits in the base of this and filled it up with solder mask so the solder will only go to the wires and it’s less thermal loss than what that strip of metal would have provided. It has two magnets in the base and two very grippy pads applied to the bottom that will not let it slide around. The body, along with the clamps are constructed from very sturdy plastic. It feels like it could be nylon, which is what the shells of all power tools are made of. I’m very happy with this purchase. It’s really helpful when soldering two wires together inside of a car because of how small and thin it is, compared to any of the helping hands, this is the logical choice to use in that situation.

I had about 200 solder connections to make on LED light strips and this gizmo worked great.

I dont think its worth the price you pay. I will use it but 2 alligator clamps work just as well
