Greater than one weekIt only took two days to get the drive to show up. I tried messaging the manufacturer sent them all my pictures of Proof (when they messaged me back at 2 AM) showing that it wasnt showing up. They didnt responded until I said it was JUNK - thats why they didnt reply. I tried One more time on my own its showing up - lets see what happens. Oh and as you can see it is NOT 2T its only 1.81 T. False advertising.

> 3 dayThe USB HDD is really good. The speed is what you expect from a good drive but the usb c version just comes with an extra usb c cable because the connector is a female usb a port, not an usb c. Keep this is mind before you buy.

> 3 dayRunning as expected after 2 weeks of use. Have this plugged in to my main computer; synchronizes with another 1TB internal hard drive as a backup; this is the drive where I store media and archived files. The drive comes formatted as FAT or FAT32 which cant handle files larger than ~4GB. A quick NTFS format would be very quick. FYI it took a few hours for a *full* NTFS format. That isnt really necessary for the first format since its a new drive. I did it anyway. Took about 1 to 2 hours to fill it up with ~700GB of data from my internal drive. Search google for freefilesync for the free software to sync files easily. Be sure to uncheck the bloatware during the installation and youre good. This setup allows me to disconnect the external drive and basically have all my favorite stuff to take it to a friends house or to my office whenever I want. The cord-holding corners seem to work fine. I havent bought an extra carrying since its rated to be shock resistant. Im still wary of shock damage while transporting and stuff, but I feel a bit more confident in this design than a regular portable drive casing. Since its a similar price, I thought it would be worth it.

> 3 dayIve had this 1TB shock proof device since 2015 and it is still working solidly. I dont use it super frequently, but mostly for occasional backups of smaller devices. Im not hard on devices, but this is a great unit that has been rugged, reliable and portable. I have since purchased more of them in larger sizes and higher grade protection that I use more often and I can say that the Silicone Power Rugged series of drives is one of my go to options for working drives when going on the road or when Im in environments that I wouldnt want to take most hard drives. I stand by this brand and of the 5 different size/style SP Rugged drives I have purchased since 2015, none of them have failed me yet.
