I have one of these already and I do not remember the hassle I just had to go through to be able to use it. Finally on a review of a different brands hard drive I found instructions someone else posted: Open Disk Utilities. From the View menu, choose Show All Devices. Select WD Elements on the left side of the window. Right click and choose Erase from the pop-up menu. Create a name and choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) assuming you have a current vision of OS-X. It will reformat the drive in about a minute. A simple note from the company or in the box as to how to format for a MAC would have been very helpful. I have two other hard drives that have stopped working and my other SP is still in great condition, so if you can figure out how to use it with your MAC it would be worth it.

My friend transferred files from his PC to this hard drive which I then plugged into my old MacBook Pro. No issues at all. Files opened easily.

Ive wanted to carry an external hard drive for a while, but havent found the right thing -- this one seems like its super durable, has great storage capacity, and I read from other reviews that the A60 2TB uses a Western Digital hard drive. Ive had really good experiences with Western Digital, and this was a fantastic deal for 2TB of storage. One thing to note, definitely plug this in to USB 3.0/3.1 ports if possible. The issue I had was that I plugged mine into my computers USB 2.0 port, which caused the transfer speeds to be slower. But once it was plugged into the 3.0/3.1 slot, transfer speeds were noticeably faster. The drive came to me formatted as FAT32, but I made the decision to format as exFAT, with default file allocation size. Since FAT32 format has a file size limit of 4GB max, I found exFAT was a better option for me. Really glad to have a durable portable external hard drive! No more need to worry about drive failure if its dropped by accident. The only thing that would make this even more durable would be to have a Solid State drive instead of a platter-based hard drive; I may open it and upgrade to SSD eventually though since I can reuse this protective case.

I had bought one of these drives and had to buy a second one after the 1st one fell. The case fell apart but years later all taped up the drive is still working.

This was so easy to set up, right out of the box. It works great and stores information rapidly! In just a few moments, I had backed up every file on my computer. Highly recommended!

Ive had 3 of these 2TB shock proof and water resistant devices since Oct 2018, and all 3 are still working solidly. I use them pretty frequently(2 of them write the same data as redundant data storage for video footage from work in progress event videos) and they are solid and have never let me down. Im not hard on devices, but this is a great unit that has been rugged, reliable and portable. I have purchased 5 Silicone Power(SP) devices in various sizes and protection levels that I use often, and I can say that the Silicone Power Rugged series of drives is my go to option for working drives when going on the road or when Im in environments that I wouldnt want to take most hard drives. I stand by this brand and of the 5 different size/style SP Rugged drives I have purchased since 2015, none of them have failed me yet. I have had a total of 5 over the years and I am sure there will be more to come.

In the last 12 years, I have bought more than 5 hard drives from different brands non-one of them have satisfied me and give peace of mind to issuer the hard drive will not broken after multiple of use. However, one of my electrical engineering friends have recommended to me if you need to buy any hard drive from excellent brand buy one of Silicon Power products and see. In 2015, I was searching in Amazon for hard drive to replace one of my hard drives then I remembered my friend recommendation so I looked at all Silicon Power products and decided to buy Armor A30. For 3 years of using it was amazing product from the design, performance, quality, efficiently and the peace of mind. Now, when I searching for hard drive first thing come into my mind this brand and I recommend it to my family and my friend even to you whom searching for this product. Buy it and give a shot then you will decided as me that this brand is the number one for spot to search and buy hard drives and even more.

Very quick operation with the Xbox One is a key point to this but let’s not forget the protective casing. Kids drop it? No problem! I actually spilled water on mine and it still runs just the way it did when I got it. I’ve now had it 7 months or so and it is still going strong! Definitely worth its weight in gold you you play a lot of games with high amounts of DLC. At this price point you should get 2 and still be cheaper than the Microsoft licensed storage devices!
