This is a great gate latch. but not for horse stalls (just too big), and definitely not for Tube Gates. needs a flat surface on one side and at least 3 inches of spacing between fence post and fence. Maybe more. But good solid latch.

This is the 3rd one of these I have purchased over the last year. We are slowly upgrading our existing chain link fencing to a much sturdier round wood post design. The posts are 5 diameter and these gate latches are easy to mount. The latch comes with the hardware to attach to the gate, but no lag bolts to attach to the post. I assume that is because the manufacture has no way of knowing how big of a post you will be attaching the latch to. I used four 4inch lag bolts for my application and they worked great. Only took about 15 minutes to hang the gate and attach the latch. The fact that the gate swings both ways makes a 2-way latch essential.

I used this on a cedar post for a gate that crosses our driveway. It works perfectly and is much easier for my wife to use than wrapping heavy chains around a post and gate to lock it.

Returned. Did not meet requirements for project. The product was good, just not for the job.

I am a fence installer and I have installed probably hundreds of tubular Farm Gates. These latches are an absolute game-changer compared to the traditional throw over chain latches. These are worth every penny.

Lock works great. Just remember you need to buy mounting hardware (4 bolts and washers). I purchased the mounting hardware at value (< $5).

I like these latches for the two way functionality, as well as the security against opening by the horses. Secure closure when pushing gate closed. Will purchase again.
