I love the feel of this case and that it hold so many pencils. Yes, the space for each holds 3 pencils - very tightly, but I think itll stretch a bit with time/use.

I use a cushiony thingie on each of my crochet hooks, making them too large a diameter for the average crochet hook organizer. Yet I was tired of having them all over the place in odd containers. This pencil case works beautifully! I had to carefully cut every other stitch line on the elastic strap, making each slot a double-wide, to accomodate my fat padded crochet hooks, but this was easily done and now the hooks are all together, organized by size, and easily accessible. Perfect for my somewhat unorthodox use. The holder is well made, and a nice touch are the snaps on each zipper pull, to keep the pull tabs from flopping around. I imagine it would work wonderfully for its intended use--pencils!

The elastic is quite tight that holds the pencils. I think it will loosen over time. The case is beautiful leather.

I like the pencil case but I only put two pencils on each elastic otherwise theyre too tight!!!
