> 3 dayThe package arrived promptly and undamaged. I was a bit confused. Each bit came packaged safely and individually in a small square tube, and there were 5 tubes in a rectangular sleeve. But one of the square tubes was empty! Did it get packaged accidentally like that? Was I missing a bit? Whats going on? Then I checked my Amazon order and found that, sure enough, there were supposed to be only 4 bits in the order. The 5th packing tube is apparently a spacer for the rectangular sleeve to fit the bits properly. So no harm no foul, but it was a bit confusing to see that. That said, the bits themselves? Havent used them yet but they appear exactly as the item appeared in Amazon, they look well made. After Ive had a chance to use them in my CNC system, Ill come back and review how they actually work.

Compare the UP cut with the DOWN cut
The down cut bit (left) leaves very clean edges while the up cut version (right) is far better at evacuating chips but that action can fray the edges of the cut to some degree.
Up cut bits are very efficient at evacuating chips from the hole or slot it is cutting. This is especially important when the hole is ¼"-deep or more. Deep holes or grooves still have to be cut using multiple light cuts, but the upward direction of the flutes while rotating prevent the debris from building up in the hole and binding or even breaking the bit.
Down cut bits require a slightly slower feed rate. This reduced pace allows the bit a little more time to throw chips out and for them to be re cut into smaller pieces that eventually are thrown from the hole or slot
