Super sharp and very accurate. Ive been using it to cut deep mortises in 4x4s. Flawless cuts.

This is a very adequate bit. Sharp, cuts are clean. As advertised. I use this in a plunge router to cut mortises in hardwoods and the results are quite satisfactory. Why pay more?

Got this bit for a project that I needed to do a lot of mortise and tenons. Stayed sharp the whole time and worked great. Didnt dull at all, so I am assuming the longevity is good as well

Recommend as a value purchase. Cuts like a hot knife through butter!

This bit is great! Made a sign out of 1.5 inch plywood 24x96 cut like a beast! Cut through a screw and it didn’t hurt it at all. This thing is a beast! Looking forward using this to make cabinets on the Cnc! I will buy this again.

I was very impressed with the quality of the cuts and the outstanding fit of the parts. Im making 6x6 pergola posts using 2x6 #2 lumber. By machining one surface flat on the planer and then laying the flat side down on the CNC table, I get perfect dadoes and rabbets which perfectly interlock.

Great bit. Used it for a bunch of deep mortises in cherry and cuts like butter. Night and day going from straight bits to spiral. Feels much safer, more control and cleaner.

Using this on my CNC lathe. Works great. So sharp you need to be careful just handling the bit. (Voice of experience.)

Difference Between Down-Cut,UP-Cut and Compression Bit

DOWN CUTDOWN CUT

UP CUTUP CUT

compressioncompression

Down-Cut Bit

  • Down-cut bit leaves a clean top edge but a rough bottom edge
  • It is great for cutting shallow dados, rabbets, and visible slots. When cutting dados or grooves with a down cut bit, be sure to slow the feed rate to allow more time for chip removal.

UP-Cut Bit

  • Up-cut bit leaves a smooth bottom edge but a rough top edge
  • The up cut is better at evacuating chips, Ideal for mortise and tenons, grooving, slotting or routing deep blind holes. It performs faster cutting while pulling the chips up.

Compression Bit

  • Compression bit cut both top and bottom cleanly, Its spiral action pulls both sides into the center of the bit where it ejects out of the side.
  • Through cuts in harwoods, softwoods, plywood, melamine, and other veneers
