Rugged, tough and well built. Hopefully it will last a long time but I guess thats why you pay more for a Stanley..

Exactly what was required and exactly as advertised, easy to use and read

Works well and is light and high quality, compact. A little flimsy on the tape.

This is a great long tape measure and the tape is wider and thicker than the 5m version making more durable over the longer lengths. It lost one star because a) the fix button to stop it retracting doesnt work very well at all on my unit and b) the downside of the wider thicker ape is that it tends to twist when in use and measuring can take four or five attempts to keep it straight. But I do recommended this product

Had this tape measure for 5 minutes and its already back in the envelope to go back to Amazon. I pulled the tape out to about 7 feet but it would only retract to leave 3 feet left. I couldnt push this final yard into the reel. What it seems you have to do is pull at least 12 foot of the tape out and then it picks up enough speed to fully retract back into the reel. Unfortunately it is thin sharp metal and the speed of the retraction is out of control. The 12 feet of metal tape i would say retracted in under 2 seconds and at the end its waving all around the unit. I was holding the back of the unit to keep the metal measure away from my fingers but it still lacerated my hand. Kids find these things fascinating & fun but this can potentially do some serious damage to fingers.

Great tough tape measure

Generally a good measuring tape, has been holding up on site well after a few weeks of being dropped and abused. My only gripe is that it tends to collapse after being extended less than 2 meters, which makes it nearly impossible to measure bigger objects without the help of someone else.

I was forced to replace my old tape after Mrs C was trying to use it. I must admit it was way past.its sell by date the first couple of feet the numbers were worn you had do do quite a bit of guess work , which is not ideal in a measuring device. Plus it was split and had to be fed back in t the case carefully to ensure you did not cut yourself. This tape is wonderful in comparison ,the numbers are clear to read ,it pulls out of the case easily no need for a pliers as in my old one. And when you Finnish your measuring it slides back into the case with ease under its own momentum. I know I should have replaced my old tape with this a long time ago. But I am one of the if it can still be used dont replace it generation. This is a very good accurate easy to read general builders tape it should give me many years of service .
