> 3 dayOf course, its a tape measure, it measures things and with it being Stanley, it is pretty accurate in the measurements taken with it. Having a Tylon coating on the tape allows for smooth movement both in and out of the tape, but it also protects the numbers from being scratched off over time. My problem with this tape (and this is probably my fault for using it in such an environment and most likely all tapes do it), but when used outside to measure bits for a patio, etc. the tape got bits of dirt and grit on it, causing it to jam and not letting all the tape go in if the grit/mud isnt cleaned off properly. Overall I think it is a great product, just as long as it is used in the appropriate environment and is looked after appropriately.

> 3 dayExcellent tape measure, very strong so you can measure up to 3 or 4 meters horizontally in the air before it bends. 8m is plenty for me, I usually use 6 meters or less.

Greater than one weekAfter many pound shop tape measures I got this o e in hope for a little better quality. Well this is miles better than any of the cheap nasty ones I ever had. I am sure this is still not up there with the professional ones but works for me. It has a good weight to it so I imagine the materials are good and the retracting mechanism wont give in anytime soon.

Greater than one weekSo pleased I managed to find a replacement. After 15 years my beloved Stanley tape got over extended and broke. The weight and feel are very similar, however the rubber body bumpers makes it a more rugged and easier to hold in the rain. The biggest difference is the actual tape itself. It’s silky smooth and so much easier to read that the original because of the lack of reflections.

> 3 dayStanley, best measures in the world for me. However, it is true, I went cheap on this one just because my longer living Stanley broke on me. Price cuts in somewhere of course - if you use a tape measure, say once a month for a few measures, fine. If you are a DIY and sometimes start working where you need a measure twenty or thirty times a day - or just like measuring things - do not get this as it is a brilliant price for a fairly priced piece, but you will feel its lack of quality. It measures, but does not offer a feel of quality or long term strength. However, in my view it should not as it costs far less than it looks - and that is fair compensation.
