Stanwood Wind Sculpture: Kinetic Copper Triple Spinner - Falling Foliage
-
Art Sanctuary
> 3 dayArt Sanctuary has done a lot of research to find nice affordable wind sculptures of high quality. The cheap ones do not withstand stronger winds. It must respond to summer breezes and be reliable during winter storms. The three levels moving in opposite directions give it a relaxed, soothing feel. The tubes are made of thick cupper material. The connection points are finished with mushrooms or cones. The leaves have a beautiful structure that shows leaf veins. The hollow side of the leaves will keep its reflective copper colour, the convex side we will age so that the rotation will give nice colour effects. We bought several and different types of these wind sculptures to make a land art installation at the summer International Art Exhibition at Jodoigne Belgium.

Greater than one weekYes, you will look at the offering as I did before buying the first one. The PRICE! OMG! Well, remember that price and cost typically diverge. Such is the case for both of our Stanwood spinners. Each arrive carefully packaged and a surprise: A multi-page; four-color set of instructions, written by a native English speaker are in the box. Armed with these instructions, assembly is a breeze. My only suggestion based on our experience with the first spinner: Drizzle a few drops of medium Locktite on all threaded fittings so that they remain tight. Our first spinner suffered chronic wobbles because the fittings continually backed out. Add a bit of Locktite, and you are good to go. Our first spinner has now operated reliably, and wobble-free for well over a year, and it stands on a bluff above the shore of Lake Champlain along which 40-60 knot winds are a commonplace. We have purchased other spinners priced $100-$150, all of which were soon banished to the recycling bin - like within on season. We fully expect our Stanwoods to be passed on to our son and daughter-in-law! What a fantastic value for money, on top of which, they are elegantly graceful.

20-11-2024I decided to quit spending $50-$60 on cheap wind sculptures that would fall apart after 1 season and get a high quality one like this. Have had it over a year and it has sustained very strong desert canyon winds here in Utah. Cheap windmills have inferior press-fit bearings of poor quality and support poles that are thin pot metal that continually loosen up at the joints despite thread lock. This windmill addresses these issues. I have no regrets whatsoever with this purchase. I’m looking for another to replace a worn out cheappie.

> 3 dayMy husband and I absolutely love our new wind sculpture. It was the perfect anniversary gift to each other. The craftsmanship is outstanding. It spins beautifully in the slightest breeze and its a great conversation piece. Thank you Stanwood.

> 3 dayIt was just a tiny bit difficult to get perfectly straight, but once it was installed, it catches the slightest breeze and spins beautifully. Its wonderful if you place it outside a window where you can see it from indoors as well as out. This was a wonderful addition to our garden and is very good quality.

> 3 dayThis is the best windmill we have had so far. Very sturdy made with actual bearings. Spins well with the wind but not so fast the wind tears it up like others. Mesmerizing. Love it more and more....Plan on buying another two (different styles). LOVE LOVE LOVE
