Each of the 40 rainbows are attached to a bright led light. They are 4 inches apart. Can plug into an USB charger or use three 3AA batteries (not included). Able to set to different light pattern mode by pressing the button at the end of the USB chord or using the remote control (battery included). The remote control has more options. The rainbow lights are cute. Note when stringing it around a tree, the rainbows are one sided so some of the rainbows are not facing out. Able to face the rainbows out though by turning and straighten the strings. I think if the rainbows are double sided it would be better. Update: Deducted a star because in less than 2 weeks a couple of the rainbows near the end of the string lost its brightness and another stopped lighting. Deducted another 2 stars because in less then 2.5 weeks even more of the lights lost its brightness and even more stopped lighting.

My daughter went through a huge unicorn phase which has been followed by a rainbow phase. These lights fit perfectly on the top of her dresser. They are lightweight and dont scratch when you lay them out. The lights are bright enough to just be seen in a well lit room but not so bright they would keep you up at night. They could easily act as a nightlight. The rainbows are adorable but they do feel a little cheap. I feel like the back part is going to break off the light string if they just get bumped the wrong way. So keep in mind the string isnt super sturdy when you are considering where to put it. Overall its a cute room decoration.

These lights are so precious. They have little resin/plastic rainbows on fairy wire. They are lightweight but not too delicate. They are operated by a USB plug or a battery box. The battery box does not have any sort of screw to protect it. It’s just a double hinge. The battery box also has little hooks so it can be hung up high. I like this because if it is in a child’s room and you want to use the batteries, like me, then it’s completely out of reach. The wire is silver so it really blends in and doesn’t stick out. The cord from the lights to the plug or the battery box is clear color so again it’s more of a transparent look. The lights have various options like chasing, twinkling, continuous, slow, etc. They can be controlled by both the battery box and the button on the USB plug. There are plenty of options to choose from. My youngest daughter has a little tree in her room year-round. She loves decorating it and it has become more of an activity than just for Christmas. She originally fell in love with it for Christmas because we decorated it for her. Now that it’s become a year around tree she makes her own ornaments and we find little trinkets to hang on there. The she switches out the items to keep it interesting. This has been a fun option to add extra light. The way that the tree is made it’s easy to hang the lights all over it. These lights can really hang anywhere though. They can hang over a tapestry, on a table as decor or in a vase with some other eye-catching trinkets. I feel like the fact that you can use it with batteries or plugging them in makes them very versatile. They do not have an outlet plug so you have to have one of the USB blocks or a USB strip. That’s definitely not my favorite as I feel like I’m constantly buying those little blocks. Overall, these lights are very versatile. They are whimsical and fun little rainbows that glow. They also light up really well. The lights are extremely well attached. They are attached by more than just a little dab of glue like some I have seen. These are very good quality and better than ones I have seen at the store. These are very nice accent lights to use with or without batteries.

I am in LOVE with these lights! They can be operated by either battery or electrical outlet. The cord is very long, giving you options as to where to place them. Love the remote with 8 settings and timer function. We placed these lights in Granddaughters bedroom to use as possible nightlight, we had power outage and the battery option came in handy. Their room was only place in house that had illumination! Well worth it and 2nd set has been ordered.

I have managed lights like this before. The wire can be extremely hard to deal with. They get tangled very easily and once the lights have been used, it is nearly impossible to put them back into storage because getting them back out with tangling them is insane. Here are some tips: When you take them out of the box go VERY SLOWLY. Unwrap the lights in a very deliberate manner because they will tangle very easily. If the wire starts to tangle DO NOT pull - instead slow down and find the end. If you want to store them again, wrap them around a wide newspaper, paper bag or box. These specific lights are very cheerful. I like the rainbows. What I was not particularly fond of is only having USB plug or battery power. I prefer my lights to also have the option of a regular wall plug. The remote is nice, but my remote did not work unless I was standing with the remote touching the lights, which completely defeats the purpose of a remote in the first place. Having the different modes is fun, but when the flashing mode was on and I could not turn it off because the remote did not work it was a little overwhelming.

Love these lights. They’re dainty and delicate and I like how yellow they are. I hate white lights as they give me a headache. These yellow lights are warm and inviting. Unicorns give it a magical look.

Of all the styles I got the rainbow. It looks cheap and is only fit for a childs room. Its not going to hang anywhere in my house.
