Step2 Dino Dig Sand & Water Table

19-11-2024I just received this table today. The Dino Dig table is a nice size, but isnt too much larger than our previous Step2 Duck Pond Water Table. The water side has a drain and the sand side does not. I think both sides should have a drain plug of some sort. Water + sand + preschooler = a soupy mess :D. The little details are pretty cool. With sand in the sand side, its almost impossible to get all of the water out when drained. Im also not a fan of how the legs and the tree accessory had to be screwed together. With the Duck Pond everything snaps into place, so an adult can disassemble the legs/whirl pool spinner without much hassle. This will not be the case with the Dino Dig Table. And I guess I screwed the tiny screws in too hard or too far, because the screw holes where you attach the tree top to the tree base split quite a bit. The accessories that come with the Dino Dig Table are great. My 3.5 years old daughter and I looked at every sand and water table we could find and she liked this one best. It was our compromise for getting a sand box and saving space. I was able to fit about 20 pounds of sand into the sand area with a little room to spare. I think with a few modifications this would be a 5 star table.

> 3 dayVery sturdy, perfect height for my grandkids. You do need a drill to put the screws in but still very easy to put together and didnt take long at all. My grandkids love it

> 3 dayBE AWARE you absolutely need decent power screwdriver and/or drill (for missing pilot holes). Several screws in legs have no or missing pilot holes for screw fittings. Otherwise a pretty nice water and sand play toy. Sturdy molded plastic, cover for sand side sg]hoped like a mountain for more play. Could use a few more same scale prehistoric creatures.

> 3 dayMy son LOVED this for his first birthday! Some reviews mention its difficult to assemble the legs. We used a power drill for them making the assembly much easier. If you dont have one, you will definitely have a difficult time!

22-11-2024We bought this for our sons first birthday. It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy for a one year old. The first thing he did was scoop sand into the water, but I know that is to be expected. He isnt interested in the dinosaurs yet--he will chew on them a little bit but thats it. He loves scooping sand and splashing his hands in the water, as well as trying to catch the sand that falls out of the sifter when I hold it up for him. Highly recommend for little ones who love being outside. Oh, water collects under the palm tree, so my husband drilled a hole where it sits so it would drain without having to turn it over.

> 3 dayBig hit with the toddler, but the only feature flaw is that the sand side really needs a drainage hole, too. I end up just having to take everything out of it, tip it over, and rinse the whole thing out. It’s impractical to think toddlers aren’t going to soak the sand side too so making that easier to deal with for parents would’ve been appreciated.
