Using in Art class, good size and appreciate perforated side for a clean cut removal if needed.

The sketchbook quality is decent and the paper and binding are both generally well made. If youre drawing in pencil your pencil marks wont usually show through on the back of the page, which is nice because you can use both sides. Unfortunately I bought this sketchbook specifically to use with my paint markers and they completely ate the paper, making it useless for that purpose. I havent tried acrylic or watercolor on it yet but judging from how it reacted to my markers youd probably only be able to paint on the front of the page and the paper might warp or come apart with too much pressure, paint, or water. Decent for the price but probably best for pencil drawings.

I use the 5.5x8.5 sized Strathmore 300 Side Spiral Binding Acid-Free Medium-Weight Mixed Media Pad for sketching, drawing, colored pencils and quick experiments with very light watercolors using little water. The smoother page texture feels great under my 2mm soft lead mechanical pencil, the size just appeals to me. The spiral binding means it opens all the way or you can fold the used pages and front cover over. I just love the feeling of my Luminance colored pencils, my finer lead pencils and even soft to medium charcoal pencils on this paper. And the pad is small enough to bring with you, although not pocket sized. I really like these pads, and I plan to continue to use them for sketching and drawing with a variety of mediums. Its not great for harder pencils or anything that requires tooth, but in my opinion, its great for everything else. Ive tried a lot of other brands of paper in similar sizes since I first wrote the above review, but I always come back to this one as the papers smoothness, thickness, size and the feel of the pad all the spot for me.

This is good quality paper that works very well with watercolours, markers and a variety of other mediums. The texture is smooth and the paper is very white so it works well for most applications. I do wish that this paper had micro-perforation as some of them do, so the paper would more cleanly tear from the book, but otherwise, I am pretty happy with it. The price was pretty good for this here on Amazon as compared to local craft stores.

A very good quality paper that takes watercolor pencils as well as wax-based coored pencils well. I have also used it in my laser printer with excellent results.

I use these notebooks for my Zentangle work. The paper is the perfect thickness and quality for the tangle ink. I have tried many brands and this has always been the favorite! No ink bleeds through and it accepts the ink very smoothly.
