I prefer Strathmore paper palettes when using acrylic paint for decorative art/tole painting. The palette paper has not been available in local stores recently. I was thrilled to find it online!

I entirely misread this. its supposed to be a palette, not paper. I dont know why people would use this instead of, say, a plastic palette or a paper plate. But im not a painter- gift for my daughter. Returning for paint paper.

Good weight for canvas paper

I bought this paper palette to use while painting miniatures. It works great. I mixed my paints right on the surface, there was no bleeding. The finish is really good, and conducive to blending paint. Ill definitely buy it again - although one pad should last a LONG time!

The palette paper itself is thin and not glued solidly down on the sides. So its very easy for it to buckle. Also, the way the cover (yellow flap on top, as pictured) is designed, you cannot just easily fold it over underneath. When you do so, the cover rips off the side where the binding is, exposing even more of the palette paper. Not well designed or thought through. You need palette paper that is thick enough quality and glued down firmly enough on the sides not to buckle while painting, and a cover that you can fold over and then return to cover the next sheet once you are done. I dont know what they were thinking, honestly, I would have thought that an established arts supplier would have thought to hire a product designer that used the product and was able to make these important tweaks.

PERFECT. Best deal on palette paper around. I paint with acrylics and oils. This is the best palette paper around. I will continue to order it.

Palette paper is much easier to use than a traditional palette in my opinion just because you wont have to waste water and towels on cleaning your palette. You tear off and throw away. The paper is bound on the top and bottom so the paper stay secure when mixing paints. Totally recommended!
