20-11-2024This umbrella broke after 3 months. When removing it from a tight place, the body of the umbrella was gently pinched. This broke one of the plastic connectors between a stay and a canopy rib. This left a loose stay poking me in the face, and an umbrella canopy with an unsupported rib. I cut-off the stay, but the umbrella collapsed during its next use, from the strong wind. This umbrella is made with six stays and ribs, which does NOT hold up well in strong winds, with or without one rib broken. I consider this unit to be a good parasol for sunny, fair days; but a poor umbrella for rain and high winds. I replaced it with the G4 Free, 62 collapsible golf umbrella, with TEN ribs/stays. I expect this unit to hold up to rain and high winds. You get what you pay for: $20 for Stromberger golf parasol and $30 for a G4 golf umbrella. Both units have the vented canopy. > 3 dayThe umbrella seems fine--havent used it yet, but it smells awful!! I sprayed it off with Fabreeze, but it still smells. Its sitting outside--hopefully it will air out because I wont be able to stand having it my house or in my car!
