Tried some screw in photocells from Menards but they would not turn the lights off on a cloudy day and will not work in can light fixtures. I ordered a 6 pack of the Sunco par38 led lights after some research. These work perfectly even in can light fixtures because the photocell sensor is built into the face. The daylight sensitivity is just right coming on at dawn and even shutting off on a cloudy snowy day! I bought the 15w (120w equivalent) 4000k cool white and they are brighter then the old standard flood lights they replaced. I highly recommend buying these lights and will be getting more. By the way these are not motion activated lights which is exactly what I wanted

These are amazing floodlights! The dusk to dawn feature is excellent and works flawlessly. No more lights left on during the day! Turn your lights on if your coming home after dark, and be welcomed home with these babies!

We have a huge number of outside spot lights on our house, all of various ages and various inefficiencies. Some tied to a centralized dusk sensor, some tied directly to light switches. At first I wanted to replace with smart bulbs, but it would have just been too large of a task (in my case, it would have meant growing from a single hub, to multi hub Hue installation). The smart hubs would have been great for the extra features, but to just take care of turn the lights off in the daytime these did the trick perfectly. They look nice, the dawk/dusk sensor works perfectly. They turn on for a few seconds when you power up in daylight so you know theyre working. I bought a six pack to replace the first three dual-light fixtures. The next week I bought two more six packs.

I wish I had taken before and after pictures. The brightness of these bulbs is incredible. I loved the ease of installing new bulbs vs new fixtures for the dusk to dawn feature. Im going to purchase regular bulbs for my porch lights now.

I purchased 12 of these bulbs, which is great for the 120 watts of light out put and use only 15 watts each for a total of 180 watts for 22 cents of electricity per night, or $79/year. I had Amazon’s installation service, install 6 double floodlight fixtures today, We live in the woods surrounded by tall trees, so we need the outside lights.. These bulbs have a 5year warranty, I had a couple of tube type bulbs which were on continuous for 11 years.

I rarely write a review without being asked, but I am totally impressed on how well these lights work. Just install flip the switch and forget them. They come on as they should and go off as they should. I have had them for two months without any problems. Now, if they last, then I would say one of the best items I have purchased.

I installed two for lighting the backyard. The dusk to dawn sensors work fine, and the lights provide ample lighting.

These work great…but we can’t leave them on overnight as they are too bright.
