SuooTci Automatic Center Punch 5 Inch Spring Loaded 2 Pack Center Punch For Metal with Adjustable Tension Punch Tool for Metal(Two Replacement Tips Included)

> 3 dayThese center punches are spring loaded and therefore can be used with one hand when making an accurate center punch. I tested the punch on hardwood, aluminum, and hardened steel and it worked perfectly on all three materials (in the attached photo the hardened steel is on the left and the aluminum is on the right). They are well made and the knurled barrel make them easy to hold and use. An aspect of the center punch that I really like is the ability to accurately make the center mark. This can be accomplished by bringing in the center punch point at about a forty-five-degree angle to your mark, rotating the punch so that’s it’s vertical to your material, and then simply pushing down on the punch. Perfectly place center punch to start your drill. Two punches with two spare tips are a great value. Wish I would have had these years ago. I recommend the SuooTci Automatic Center Punch.

> 3 dayHeavier than I thought they would be which is a good thing. Spring works well and left a decent center score on aluminum. A dozen scores and the tip shows no sign of wear or bending. The extra tips an extra if I do not lose them in the tool box. As a side note these will also work well as an emergency side glass widow breaker in your car ( old fire rescue tip).

> 3 dayThese are slim enough to easily center on your mark and push down on the tool to snap your punch mark. No more having the punch skate away when you hit it with a hammer. If you want a bigger mark just put your regular punch in the mark and hit with a hammer. Do not hit these punches with a hammer. At this price there is no reason to not have these in your tool box. It would have saved me a lot of time over the years to have these.

> 3 dayIf you like to hang items on your wall then this is a good tool to have. Just decide where you want the item and this will mark the nail or screw holes for you. Using a level and straight edge if you need two or more is great for getting a perfect level hang each and every time. This punch will easily leave you a mark on wood or sheet rock without pushing it until it pops because of the sharp point, but for a larger mark push till it pops. The pressure for the spring loaded tip is adjustable, just loosen the cap for less pressure. These punches also come with two extra tips. You may want to keep one in the glove box for a possible aid in breaking a window if ever needed, because they work off the same principle as the glass breakers you see advertised. My picture shows me trying one on my old teak cutting board, the really small is just the pressure of the point and the slightly larger are pushing with enough pressure until it pops.

> 3 dayThese center punches are exactly as they show in the listing and come with 2 replacement tips in case they break or dent. They do work just find as you would expect but Im not sure how many times they will last. I used some cheap ones before that worked amazingly for about 4 times before it broke internally and never worked again. Hopefully these dont turn out that way. Overall, good working center punches that will hopefully last a while.

> 3 dayBoth of the units that I got had a good action and a crisp snap when used. The points are sharp, and while not the best finish overall, they are sharp, concentric and smooth where it matters. I used them on mild steel and alumimum and they created nice center punches with a clean center and no visible wear on the point. They also supplied a pair of extra points.

> 3 dayI keep one of these on my workbench and one in my tool belt. I use it many for wood not metal but I can certainly see how helpful it would be for metal. Nothing like starting a hole with a bit on metal and seeing the bit scoot all over your work piece. With wood it makes a nice little divot to start a screw in or drill a hole.

> 3 dayI keep a few of these auto punches around the shop in different tool bags and boxes so I always have one handy. But this is the first time I have gotten any with extra punch points. Honestly, I tend to lose a punch before I ever wear out the point, but I like that the vendor is thinking ahead.

> 3 dayI was impressed when I opened the package of the SuooTci Automatic Center Punch. The punches are all metal and have a good feel t them. They are easy to operate and the knurled barrel makes it easy to use with one hand. I made some test marks on wood and they handled that with no issue. The marks are clean and accurate. I also tried making some marks on ceramic and porcelain tile. While the marks were not as pronounced as on the wood (I wouldnt expect them to be), they were clearly visible and made a good spot for a drill bit to start. I have used the spring style center punches in the past. They worked well but cannot compare to the quality and performance of these punches. I appreciate that this was a pack of two punches and the two extra tips will ensure these will last for awhile. This punch set is very reasonably priced and the quality makes this well worth it.
