Supco M500 Insulation Tester/Electronic Megohmmeter with Soft Carrying Case, 0 to 1000 megohms Black

So far Ive only tested two three phase motors with it, one clearly bad as the red indicator light showed, and one clearly out of the 1000 ohm range. Id have to say it works as intended. Ive had no problems with the leads being short since I have to open the peckerhead to access the the leads anyway.

Delivered on time (very early actually) in great condition. Works like a charm. Smooth transaction. If youre in need of a reliable Megger this is it. I work in automation and this little megger works great for troubleshooting motors and circuitry. Has already paid for itself. ONLY shortcoming I can find is the leads are a little short (IMHO) but dont let that stop you. I knew this was a keeper the first time I used it.

just received this tool and tested it on a compressor today. My trusty VOM did not read continuity from the winding to ground. If I set my VOM to the ohm setting, I was able to pick up a small amount of resistance, which a good compressor shouldn’t read any resistance from windings to ground, but I first questioned my meter until I used this tool to prove that the new compressor that was recently changed is in fact bad.

Alot of problems I face as a heating and cooling tech (HVAC tech) is to explain to my customer so they understand. In our industry a confused mind says no, so this make explaining a problem compressor easy. I show them its good or I show them its bad. Builds alot of trust with my customer and know I dont know how I even worked without it.
