As the title says, its soft. The wire is very easy to twist, and the rubber coating ensures you dont get poked. I hung one 30x40 wood framed picture that weighs over 30 lbs, and it has held with ease. Highly recommended!

When I found this brand of hanging wire, that was it, I do not use any other - no more fraying, not more fingers getting pricked, no more rust, etc. This wire is durable and easy to use.
