Susan Bates 5-1/2-Inch Bamboo Handle Silvalume Head Crochet Hook, 8mm, Silver Pink (13206-L 11)

I love these hooks, they feel good in the hand and are not as hard for the joints.

Frankly I am upset that I had to stop crocheting with my new hook to write this review, but I had to share. I have been crocheting for six hours straight, and not one cramp have I had. I dont want to put my new hook or my work down. I ordered two of these, and I am so thrilled that I did. Anyone that crochets a lot will appreciate the comfort and the warmth of these hooks. There is also little to no catching of the yarn with these hooks.

I am on the fence with these. I have used and loved Susan Bates hooks the entire time I have crocheted and have never had an issue. These, however, have got me wondering. I purchased 4 different sizes and each have the same problem. The Susan Bates hooks I had been using doesnt have the bamboo handles and they are different from these. For example, the heads of the bamboo handle hooks are more rounded and the throats arent as smooth so the yarn doesnt slide smoothly. You can clearly see the grooves in the bamboo handled hooks. I love the bamboo handles, Im just not crazy with the difference in the heads and throats of them when both are supposed be be inline. I have attached pictures to show the difference compared with my original Susan Bates hooks.

So much easier to crochet with this needle.

Feels heavy. The tip is too round so I sanded the tip to make it more pointed, easier to go into each stitch.

I found the bamboo handle to be very comfortable while making a rug using 6 strands of yarn.

Best Needles ever, just my opinion!
