Swanson TL043M 9-Inch Savage Magnetic Torpedo Level

This is my second one (lost my first one) works perfect, light function is great. My only gripe is the battery cover on these is easy to break, and then you cant use the light.

Unit came factory sealed but looked like it may have been returned and repackaged going by scratches on the level, cant be sure. In any case measurements were not repeatable if you turned the level 180 degrees and the level could not be calibrated when following the enclosed directions. Also level would not work if laid flat on its back, only if set vertically. Returned, will try a different brand.

is this supposed to look marred up? dinged and sloppy paint or anodizing or did this slip through quality control? Its heavy, and seems accurate, but this is too expensive to look like its already been in someones tool belt for a year

The magnet on the product is very weak. Does not hold up very well when placed on metal. It slides off.

the level is super easy to use. batteries seem to last. the cool factor is through the roof. the installation crew holds their breath when i whip out the digital level for inspection.
